Seaport Airlines Pilatus PC-12 [Engine Start, Takeoff, Landing] Part 1.

This is my first experience flying the Pilatus PC-12 with Seaport Airlines. I was very impressed with their service and the use of an FBO rather than a larger airport terminal. N58VS is a leased corporate plane and not marked with Seaport's logo. Flight info is below.

That sounds right. This sound is also heard during the engine start up, which I believe also to be the notification when the avionics are switched on.

It's amazing the sounds/chimes you never hear from the cockpit since most passenger planes have the door closed. I'm not sure exactly, but I believe that sound is some part of the avionics; navigation or communication related.

The flight was very comfortable, and with the prop in the front it sounds as if you were flying in a small regional jet. The cabin was relatively quiet and seemed to be a comfortable amount of space between the seats. Yes Seaport has quite the little network going on in the midwest now and currently expanding out of KBUR.

It really is an interesting little plane. I like that it can pressurize and cruise at higher altitudes. The ticket agent checking us in said the PC-12's can shave off 10-15 minutes of flight time compared to their Cessna Caravans.

LoveJT8D Now that’s very true. Seaport is no longer around. Their old routes have been taken over by Southern Airways Express. And they use the newer Caravans

This one wasn't very cramped considering the size of the aircraft. This particular plane operated by Seaport Airlines is owned privately, originally for corporate use according to the registration. The interior was very nice and seemed to be just enough room between the seats. If you are interested in flying one, Seaport flies the PC-12's out of MCI, DAL, MEM, and I believe Portland.

Cabin seems pretty quiet. Love the PC-12.

The cabin was very nice. At cruise the sound was very similar to flying a small regional jet. With the prop located in the front, there was not much prop sound leaking into the cabin.

Nice video. I've seen these guys on the ramp at HRO and hear them on the radio all the time. SeaPort no longer flies this aircraft between MCI and HRO, it was involved in a gear up incident in Salina KS last February. No injures thankfully.

Wow, sorry to hear of the incident in Salina. After searching Seaport's website it appears that the PC-12 is no longer part of their operations. All I can find is the Cessna Caravan.

LoveJT8D Wonder why they don't use the PC12 anymore? maybe the Caravan's are more cost effective? I've always loved the PC12, it seem's like a nice plane.

I agree that Seaport's PC-12s were very nice, and as I understand they were able to arrive at a destination about 10 minutes faster than the caravan. As with many fleet changes it comes down to cost.

Haha, no we didn't get a bag of candy, but the crew was super awesome on both of my Seaport flights (PC-12 and Caravan). They thought it was so cool I was just on the flights for spotting purposes. The service from the pilots to the ground crew was top notch.

jay bee Yeah those various chimes are quite unique. I haven't heard flight instruments that sound like that until I flew the PC-12.
