This show stresses me out a little...makes me feel sorta dark and anxious after binging for too long. But just when it gets dark it cracks me up in the most unexpected subtle way

omg..... idk if i've ever felt so freaking anxious watching a show before. i literally was trying to tell ppl about this show and they said "is it good?" and i was like "it makes me feel really bad and like anxious and dark but i keep watching it".... it's not a bad thing it's just.... very anxiety-inducing !! haha idk why!!!

Omg! Season 3 stressed me out soooo bad. I really thought that Dory was gonna go to jail. She deserved it and the whole time I was wondering why I was rooting for her haha

This is one of the darkest things you can watch because it puts you in the shoes of people trying to cover up a murder, and it does a really good job of stressing you out as much as the characters. It really was some of the darkest feelings I've ever had watching a TV show.

@@marcus_ohreallyus When Season 5 finally dropped enough time had passed that it took me a while to remember that the show is about a group of very unlikable characters. When I recalled that, it helped me feel better about why I was conflicted and made it easier to not feel bad for them.

I absolutely LOVE Dory and Drew's face right after he finishes reading the definition. This ridiculous thing is their ONLY hope of not being convicted after that tape and you can just see on their faces that they're so embarrassed that people will think they did this sexual act 😅🤣🤣

Well if they did do the sexual act, which i am still not 100% convinced they did (I do think it was murder) I find myself wondering how many of them came. After all, pancaking can result in one or more than one person's orgasm.

It’s crazy how I want dory to go to jail cause she is so obviously guilty and pretty unlikeable at this point, but I also hate the fact that this old lady is trying to use the messed up situation of these kids to further her goals in life

@@lazedout8755 They could and it was indeed truly self defence (or defence of Dory, by Drew, to be precise), but there's no guarantee that the courts will see it that way, and Elliott's instinct was to lie and cover up the horrible situation to escape the prospect of getting in any degree of serious trouble. What bothers me a bit is that they are caught on tape saying that they murdered Keith - they know they didn't murder him, Drew killed him unintentionally in an attempt to prevent him hurting Dory. I suppose it was an exaggeration by Dory because she was very emotional about the gravity of having taken a life.

I think the habit she quickly falls into of relentless, brazen lying about the situation, even to her friends in some regards, coupled with the fact she makes so many silly mistakes with her rash actions (like sneaking into Keith's apartment to send an email purportedly from the post mortem Keith, not throwing the cassette tape away before being arrested and then drawing attention to it by her attempt to destroy it in the police station) makes her infuriating and contemptible, but to be fair Drew (taking home the murder weapon when it would so obviously be missed and the damage to it could easily have been explained by it simply being knocked off its shelf) and Elliot (stopping Drew from calling the police and setting them on the road of deceit) and all of them collectively (burying the body so near the house in a shallow grave, in his clothes, inside the eyecatching luggage case they had bought that very night nearby!) made a lot of foolish foul ups. When all is said and done though I was nevertheless on her side because Keith lied to her, got obsessive about her, stalked her and behaved very threateningly to her, initiating the chaotic situation resulting in his death, and she never wanted to hurt anyone. I have a great deal of sympathy with her for killing her obnoxious neighbour too!

This scene is why I stopped watching the show. It literally makes no sense and is targeted at the dumber people watching to get laughs. The logic doesn't even add up. How does she clearly say both "pancake" and "murdered". Makes absolutely no sense. Weird direction to take it. The show went downhill once HBO took it over

It's a reference to the Yanny/Laurel debacle from a few years ago. There was a short audio clip going around in which some people would hear it say Yanny and others would hear it say Laurel. I can't explain you the science behind it, but it's definitely an existing phenomenon. Obviously it's highly unlikely it'd happen the way it happens in this specific instance, but Search Party is hardly a show that has always been grounded in reality. @@randomclips2079 I realized after I posted that it was referencing that debate. However it still doesn't change my opinion on the scene for a few reasons. With the Yanny and Laurel debate, different people heard it differently. Some people heard Yanny while others heard Laurel. With this scene, everyone hears both, so it takes away from the whole debate aspect, which is the whole reason Laurel/Yanny was a thing. Without the debate of it, it's nothing. There's no debate when every single person watching can hear both so it makes it pointless to even have it in the show. Also it was just a weird choice to put something in a show based off of a current trend. Bc when someone binges it on HBO years after it aired and if they weren't aware of the original trend, it will make no sense to them. And lastly, I understand that the show isn't realistic at times, but this scene was much further from reality than other scenes in the show. There's clear evidence shown in a court (a verbal confession that they murdered someone) and the producers get the characters out of that situation by bringing in some corny trend from 2015? Just a weird choice. It hurt my brain trying to comprehend it. On a separate note, I don't like how they made 2 of the main characters in the show to have villain-like characteristics. I can handle Elliot being a pathological liar. He makes up for it with his good heart and comedic relief. But then you make Dory, arguably the biggest character in the entire show, a pathological liar as well? She was never punished once for it and kept getting off the hook with everything episode after episode. Atleast add something to the show to balance out her ego and flaws.

i completely agree with you. it did not make me stop watching because honestly i LOVED the first season and this wasn't so bad that it made me stop watching but i did feel something similar to you. it makes no sense. it's kind of a cop out from what would have been a CLEAR reason to convict Dory, which would have ended the season then and there. i def see what you're saying. also i don't think it being a reference to an actual instance that happened on social media makes it any less of a badly written scene !
