Great band, great song, great performance! I am totally mesmerized by them! The way they play their musical instruments, the way they sing, the way they move, is enchanting.

I've loved Spencer since his days with "First Class." Members above are: John McNally on lead guitar (original-present); Frank Allen on bass (1964-present); Spencer James lead singer/guitar (1986-present); Billy Adamson on drums (1970-1998).

Jack Nitzsche and Sonny Bono co-wrote the music and lyrics. Jackie sang it first in 1963 followed by the Searchers in 64, and any number of others afterward.

This is good, of course people will moan not as good as original they did in the 60's but fact they still wanted to perform and to this day. You can't expect them to go on a show or tour and mime over a 60's recording., the band are legendry and i seen them live about 10 years ago and was amazing.

Mike Love made a mockery of the Beach Boys name after Carl Wilson passed away. There is nothing wrong with touring as the Searchers they have one original member and another member from the early/mid sixties.

This is actually Mike Pender's Searchers it is not the original group only Pender is from the start .... Sone written by Jack Nitizsche and Sonny Bono ...

John macnally is the only original, as frank allan joined in about 63, the other two here is Spencer james (vocals) and credit of being the best drummer joining in about 68 billy addamson. the drummer is Scott can not remember his surname. but the line up today is Frank, John, Spencer and Scott. still touring about 200 t0 280 or more gigs a year
@bonkeydollocks18796 жыл бұрын
Micia Starky no the drummer in the video is billy adamson , scott ottaway joined 8 years ago and cant keep time to save his life , is that why the boys are jacking it in ?

Sure the Searchers have changed there line up since 1958 and so have many other groups, Personally The Searchers have a fan base that refuses them to stop giging, Unfazed by history's so called new wave music that has now disappeared and long forgoten, The Searchers got there name from the movie The Searchers staring John Wayne, There was another movie that stared John Wayne which typifies The Searchers that was called True Grit..........

Why does 'pins' have 2 syllables in this tune, is it 'needles n pinzer' or needles n pinsza' ...very vexing...
@gibb25315 жыл бұрын
From an emotional point of view I agree with you, but if what you say about the Searchers is true, it also, unfortunately, applies to the "Beach Boys," who have one original member-Love and another from the mid sixties- Bruce. it's curious that the current Searchers lineup is not offensive to original fans, while Love's money-grubbing machine certainly is.

The vocals are good, it's the drumming skills that are soooo lacking! Chris Curtis drumming style cannot be brought back, and this drummer makes no effort. Let's hope their new drummer puts forth more energy where it is required.
