I'm over in the US (Colorado Rocky Mountains to be more precise) but just last weekend I was up in the mountains and I saw a bunch of bright blue western pond hawks and red variegated meadow hawks. Also just found your channel a couple of days ago, I love your curiosity, keep it up.

My favourite dragonfly is the Anax imperator! She's the queen of the modern world! Thought I love Meganeuras more!

Even though I've always lived around areas with a lot of Dragonflies and Damselflies and actually learned quite a bit about them over the past 29 years, I still got a nice amount of new info from this video. And I do get both around where I live now too. Just 2 min walk from my apartment, bit over month ago there was dozens of them around one park area (and many other areas not far from here). Many times had them land on my shoulder, top of my head, back ect and even had a damselfly try to land on my nose once lol My dog doesn't seem to mind about them, occasionally carries them on his back ^^

I read the title as "Dragonflies and damn selfies". Guy at 0:50 even mentions damn selfies! Great video! Really interesting.

imo, the southern hawker is best dragonfly in the uk. not only awesome but they will definitely turn up to lay eggs in any garden pond esp if its got a nice bit of rotten wood for them to land on. the less friendly emperor dragonfly unfortunately does not score too highly on that count. had different southern hawker females laying eggs nearly every day for a couple of months plus males hawking over the pond. very cool. god knows how many nymphs there will be lol. i also like the little red sympetrums , broad bodied chasers, and the various damselflies. they are all quite entertaining

I live very close to a nature reserve kinda thing, and there's a whole bunch of insects to be found over there. I've seen a couple dragonflies, but I wouldn't know which specific ones they were....

I consider myself very lucky,to have had 3 different dragonfly's in my garden although not all at the same time, the first occasion was that my son noticed something weird flying and swooping around in the garden,so I went to investigate,I saw a deep free and deep purple dragonfly ,I told my son what you saw were beautiful dragonfly's,they don't live long a couple of days I think, the green one landed on the tip of my finger, that was totally amazing,so my son to a photo,I stood there in awe, looking at this. beautiful guy or gal on the tip of my finger, then the wings vibrated so he flu away then the purple one flu into our neibours garden,,,on a different occasion about a year after I saw something gold looking in among the bushes,, and WOW,it was a gold dragonfly its wings were awesome and looked like little diamonds on he's wings because it had been raining a few mins before,I'll never forget that,or the other times that I saw them in my garden,it was fantastic🌹🌺🌸🍁

This more makes my day wetting a finger, holding it up and having them land to get a quick drink then go on their way. Hate the thought of damaging wings or legs even being gentle.
