There has been soooo much rain over the last month. The rivers and streams in north Jersey are still blown out. That being said, the amount of freshwater pouring into the back bays effects the salinity of the water which I believe, effects the fishing but, what do I know, I've only been on the hunt for linesiders for over fifty years. My neighbor picked three the other night in Shrewsbury on the riverside if that's any help? Good video as always. Like they say, You can't catch'em from your living room.

Went to Long Island central south shore beach Saturday. Outer beach had two shorts and guys down towards the inlet catching as well. Start of the outgoing

Caught one 32” and one 26” north shore center Long Island on April 1st. Nothing since. Hopefully it picks up soon and if not at least we have the blues to look forward to in the next 2 weeks. Good luck Paulie

Been trying a couple spots on the north shore after work around sunset. Probably 3 trips so far. Yellow and black swarters, pencil poppers, spooks, white swim shad, mackeral swim shad. Nothing. No bunker around yet. Heard bays out west producing well. I give it another week. Started catching last week of april last year

ive seen plenty of striper both in the bay and north shore harbors eating glass eels but they refuse to take a plug. might have to wait for more bunker to move in is my guess

Just thought this might be a good place to tell you all that follows Paul. January first , through March 30. Ice fishing at its best. Or close. Salmon 18”-24” White fish 16-24” Lake trout 16”-40”. But I’ve never actually caught many that small. All average 20” and up. Rent a shack. Look me up here and I’ll get you a number , price and reservations.

Never the less , poachers don’t apply to rules either. See a few forty inches and bigger leaving over the shoulder bagged. Like they think they’re hiding something. Anyone knows what that is in the bag. Dumb poachers. Wished I had a wardens number. Come to this country thinking rules don’t apply to them because they act dumb too get away with it. I told him it was to big , that’s obvious. He yelled 32”, 32”. I said I doubt that. It’s more like 48”-50”

Hey Pauline , I see why your hot and sweaty so much. I live ten to twelve hours north of you , where we have ice to drive the truck on. I don’t ware that much clothes fishing the ice. Maybe that much getting there if I’m on the wheeler or sled. Depends on the snow amount that year. We dress like that when it’s cold out. I invite you to come fish with me for January,February and March Fresh water fishing the size of blues and Striper. Under 40” though. 💯🫶🏔🌊🎣 Arbo
