Jeff takes the time to remember one of Hollywood's first child stars whose silent movies grossed millions of dollars but remains virtually forgotten today. History Hunters gives "Freckles" his first recognition in today's world of KZbin as Jeff finds his remains in a quiet small city far from Tinsel Town.

Jeff - Really nice piece on my dad; he never was involved in the turkey business though. Let me know if you want any additional information on his life.

@Jimmy Green, I totally agree! This gentleman definitely needs a star on the Hollywood walk of fame! And Jeff, I see his son had commented on your coverage of his father. Did he respond to you and is there anymore info you could share or do a follow up video perhaps? Loved to know, thank you! You do great work and I love learning history about people and locations I never known before or if I have, I love learning some things I didn’t know before. Keep it up!👍

I've never heard of Wesley Barry. This is a Great Story on his life. What I dont understand about Hollywood, After you grow up in that business, Some child stars manage to be successful, To continue in there careers, While Other's don't. That's when they turn there back on you. Wesley still managed to stay in the business, By producing and directing. He deserves a Hollywood walk of fame. Its a shame, He's been forgotten all these years. Rip Mr. Barry, Great Video Jeff🙏👍

Everything about this episode was first rate. It had an interesting story to tell and the music and film clips worked together perfectly. I'll bet when Wesley looked back at his life he was proud of his work and felt fortunate that he contributed to the history of Hollywood.

A diamond in the rough find, Jeff! Who woulda thought! It is very cool that you take suggestions from subscribers and find these gems that are mostly overlooked through history. Thanks for digging this one out and presenting in a great way! I'd love to hear if Mr. Barry's son provided further information that would help you finish the story and find out if not turkey farming, what did he do in his final years in Modesto.

There was a band in the 80s called Romeo Void with a one hit wonder, I might like you better if we slept together. Later the lead singer firmed another band Lower East Venus and played that song while opening up for Cindy Lauper in 1986. Years later I contacted the lead singer on Instagram and she said, "Thanks for remembering"! Just think how thankful Wesley would be if he knew you made this video.

While you are tracking down famous but forgotten silent movie era child stars, you could track down the story of Jack McHugh. Born in Montana in 1913 and died in Las Vegas in 1983. If you go wikipedia first and read his filmography you will find that it ran thru the twenties up to 1939. During the WW2, he was a paratrooper and a member of the 82nd Airborne. He worked in Las Vegas local theater afterwards. I don.t know where he is buried. He might be buried in the veterans cemetery in Boulder City. That cemetery contains many other interesting graves. If you do a Hoover Dam episode, you could take a trip up there.
