Seaside community grapples with sanctioned homeless camp | The Story | Jan. 3, 2025

Jan. 3 on The Story: Having dealt for years with a rise in unsheltered homelessness, the Oregon coast city of Seaside created a sanctioned site where people can camp without being driven out. But tensions are building between a community group that feeds the homeless people there, the city manager's office which maintains it, and the surrounding neighbors - each with their own ideas of how to respond to homelessness with empathy and efficacy.

Oh, & where did i hear this? That it turns out our former DA, Mike Schmidt - did a-LOT more prosecutin than was otherwise oppositely 'alluded' to, by the Ads of the man who now holds this job - Nathan Vasquez - who kept insisting that Mike was "too soft on crime;" - well i'll be granma!

Hundreds of senior citizens are becoming homeless because their social security check is not enough for rent and utilities. This might be a good area for them to go until they can figure things 🤔
