Spear definitely has a couple of counters, but it just doesn't have to always confront it. I think your point about BB being a natural predator that has fallen off is a good one. Thing is, while spear is a cream that's risen to the top, it actually hasn't seen much/any direct changes in a long time. The dodge stam nerf to heavy is really the biggest thing, that pushed down every other heavy build in a way that doesn't apply to (heavy) spear, since it's so good at recovering stamina.

There was a ghost change where the dodge stam reduction went from having to dodge backwards to being able to dodge in any direction. Combined w the heavy change made it really solid.

not sure if this tier list is using wars as baseline but bb in opr and arenas is an absolute beast specially paired with abyss or firestaff. either of these setups is a pain to deal with

As a bruiser I feel like GA is underwhelming right now and could probably be replaced rather easily. It's just that people are way to used to start clump fights with gravity well and it is still good for that since it clumps people and lock them down (for like 0.75sec) but I think the most important thing is that it's a good visual that people are used too see.

For a medium load Spear/Sns, which is preferred? Shirking Fort or Shirking Heals? And the other two BIS perks are what? Ele Aversion and Health?

Sadly I took a break mostly until they launched group finder. Then find out it's basically useless on US West so until player pops recover if ever I'm benching the game mostly. Having more fun in GW2 doing PVP there.

Hey ! Will you do a tier list about PVE ? I mean, in M3 or content need to dont pick anything without think about it. Very curious to know where you'll put the flail in that case. I love play it but think he has no place in M3

maybe, flail is good only because of best friends in PVE since the buff persists on weapon swap but is an uncommon sight

Firestaff and Musket on EU probably at the BEST level. this tier list looks like NA war tier list. VG with magnetic is in very good spot too,i dont know whats going on with na meta but it seems the difference between eu and na is big.

also str bb is getting a 10% ability dmg buff from 350 str next patch i guess. dont think that makes it any better for wars tho because they want to run it with int builds

I play heavy with 150 Con, SNS / Spear. Been pvping for 2 weeks now. I get DMs on a regular basis from people I’ve killed talking shit and calling me bad because my build is “meta”. I chose it randomly, and even avoided Bow/ Fire Staff because I thought those looked cheap.

It is meta, its the easiest build rn to play. Try playing it in light and tell me how you go

I really think the meta is gonna shake up on spear with venom coming out as well, venom/sns with replace half of the spears doing a 50/50 split between scorp and venom. 2500 in ticks alone with the spear

How much does slash conditioning reduce the ticks on the bleed since bleed scales with slash

@@GenDrake3 I wouldn't say a whole terribly lot, my thought is full nature harnessing to take full effect from the poison it applies. The tick from with from sweep's coup de grace without nature harnessing is 700

mate in my opinion scorp is only good for assassin build and having fun tbh XD venom misght replace a BIS 700GS spear yeah 50/50 split between BIS 700GS spear and venom :)

i try25 con but its to risck for a meele rapier guy, i dont use mortar bcz i use the bb as support so: netsho for escape and chase+hook to close gap+ bombs to do some dmg

Yea I mean there are soft and hard counters. Spear is a hard counter to ga in a 1v1 but in larger scale it’s more balanced since ga has better aoes

best tire lest for sure but I would like to say 1- musket is really OP in right hand as your stream chat said in EU i've seen companies looking for good musket players XD 2- i played more than 300opr game (kinda new to the game ) but i have never lost a match if we have IG/VG player there really annoying to the enemy team 3- hatchet in EU is really op with the backstab perk cuz most players when they see a hatchet activating berserk they turn around to run XD 4- I've been trying light BB + Warhammer as assassin it's op most light players use thrust + fire RIS gems ( armor breaker + mighty gavel ) hit so hard love your long videos keep it up :)

Yea there are a lot of off meta very viable builds but people are often afraid to try new things. I try to do a opr tier list every month ish to cover every variant.

OPR & Wars. Open World is chaos, 3v3s bumps up all Ranged, 1v1 isnt talked about, and PvE always follows a different meta. All weapons still viable if you optimize them enough tho.

People still sleeping on bb/ig. Medium loadout stacked with shirking fort + shirking heals and tumblers. So much fortify, utility and burst.

shirking fort is dogwater in the currently meta. Medium sucks ass aswell now. Light or heavy nothing between that except medium bruiser and spear rapier maybe

Spear is OP because Bow users went to Lightning, creating this weird gap category that physical BB and Spear fall into. Also, top end rosters are slow to adapt if anything. It took them months to realize how dangerous WH and Spear are. And I distinctly remember talking with Whirlwhip about this for hours many months ago. Same goes for Health vs. Conditioning or Invig. vs. Conditioning. Wars are won with personnel these days, not strategies.

Disagree with your statement saying spear has no counter. Spear lacks a reliable gap closer. A skilled light armor ranged player can kite to counter it

Yea I mean it’s ok with greatsword and ga too, but just isn’t as popular since ideally you want str/dex scaling as a secondary weapon and greatsword gets deleted fairly quickly now

Light armor ranged players don't really have a place in any roster atm. You'll slot maybe 3 at most in a war to to pick up the low health leftovers. Don't really need to counter a ranged player when you can play objective with your healers. Ranged is just a selfish playstyle for pumping personal numbers

If the counter is running, then theres no counter. The tierlist is talking about single weapons, but still taking in consideration the gamemodes, not just 1v1s; You wont win the Point (OPR, War, Races) against a Spear by running away (Open World, 3v3?).

Spear only became “OP” because of the way the meta shifted. I always played spear, always light, and the weapons was always good, not OP, nor weak, and it wasn’t even played anymore. It wasn’t broken in any way, until this stupid heavy disruptor meta showed up. Now, they’ll probably nerf spear, making spear light non viable, because they way disruptors abuse it. And that’s why the game will never be balanced, they nerf and buff stuff, like spear, without spear itself being the problem.

10% dmg buff next season cuz they fixing 350str passive for range abilities :D. i do think this list was very war oriented and BB definatly isnt bottom tier in opr, but maybe thats just my opinion, i think it counters spear quite well@@ThaCousin
