Keeping Kryptonite in the house makes a ton of sense. Clark has been known to lose control on red-K etc. The only way to subdue the most powerful being on the planet is Kryptonite. This is actually very smart.
@asyouwish363618 күн бұрын
not to mention, it also helps him sweat out other forms of Kryptonite! so it's smart for them to keep it around cuz every year a new variety pops up and affects Clark in unexpected or dangerous ways

Season 5 is not the best season of the show, but it’s the beginning of the best era of smallville which is the second half of the show in my opinion. It goes uphill from here. Can’t wait for the next seasons. Thank you all for the podcast 🤩
@simonr2318 күн бұрын
I'm the opposite. The series had its "jumped the shark" moment in S05E12 - it peaked, and can't ever top that. The show is still good, and i enjoy a lot of the following seasons, but not as much. I think even Tom's rating average episode will drop for the final 5 seasons vs the first 5.
@heatherrosetarot17 күн бұрын
It goes uphill for me, too. ❤ If you stop the podcast before season 8 or 9, they will skip the Lois and Clark love story, which would be a terrible thing to do to a big chunk of fans, IMO.

Oh wow....I don't know where to begin. LOL. I honestly mean that in the best possible way. ❤ First of all, great season, guys! I really enjoyed every episode of the podcast. Whether the actual Smallville episode was great or not, the podcast is always fun to watch. Like Tom has said, some of the best podcast eps. are born from the less than stellar Smallville episodes - which is so funny, but it's what makes this so special too. I love it all, and I really mean that. I have so much respect for the amount of energy and time it must take to make this podcast, and I am so appreciative to everyone involved. The awards were fun, and I always get a kick out of the end of the season montage! So much happened during season 5 - I can't believe we're already at the end. Bring on season 6! ❤ Looking forward to when it starts back up again on January 22nd (which happens to be right after my winter baby's birthday - yes, she is a human furnace everyday. Warm all the time. Blame Tom's wife for my bringing this up...she posted about the difference between winter and summer babies on Instagram. It was so funny to me because my mom always told me that, and my mom brought it up again when I had kids. Jessica Welling is the only other person I have heard mention that. The theory is so true!! LOL) Anyway (didn't intend to go off on a tangent there...) I thought everyone's reactions during the awards were funny. Michael - the tongue noises during the best kiss nominations...that's classic you. I had to laugh. I know not everyone is going to find that funny, but I did. 😅 I almost wanted to hear the sound effects Bryce asked you to do, Lex and Clark exchanging blows. Thanks to whoever edits the pod for censoring that (sound and visuals.) I don't think my delicate female sensibilities could've handled that [clutching imaginary pearls]. I'm just kidding...let's just say it's lucky my husband has the same sense of humor as I do. 😅🙄😁❤️👍 My big highlights of this Talk Ville season: becoming a Patron, the new friends I've made (which means more to me than anyone will ever know,) finding out about the Smallville Con through the podcast and later attending that, finding my creative spark again by watching Smallville and discovering Talk Ville, the guests on the podcast were fantastic (please have Erica on again, Kristin, and definitely Justin Hartley...and Al! Al is such a delight to hear from whenever Michael calls him about the show,) and I adored the 100th episode special. Oh, and I was so happy today when Tom read my name on the list of Patrons! [squealing in fan girl] You can thank my mom for making my name so easy to pronounce. LOL 😅 Lastly, I think season 5 has been the best season of Smallville you have covered thus far. I DO NOT think it goes down hill from here...stop thinking that, Tom. [Shaking head] 😂❤ There are a ton of good episodes left in the rest of the series. Trust me. I joined Patreon because I want this to go all the way to the end...plus you can't skip the excellent job Smallville did with Lois and Clark's love story, because that would be a criminal offense. ❤ 😅 As always, thank you all for making my Wednesday a bit brighter. I struggled a lot this year from trauma, and I hope things get better in time. Sending love and hugs to Michael again for your devastating loss. Hope you're hanging in there. ❤ See you guys in January! ❤❤

Happy holidays guys!! Looking forward to season 6!! Just a thought as Michael continues to be shall we say not enthusiastic about Smallville seasons 8-10. Perhaps Erica could be added to the podcast for those seasons. A fan recently asked her at the Steel City con if she would be willing to join the podcast and she was very receptive to this idea (as was Tom who was also there). A great advantage would be that Erica was the unofficial co lead for those seasons and she would have amazing input and behind the scenes info to share which we all love. Another advantage would be your viewership would definitely go up. I have noticed each time Erica or Kristin are guests on the podcast that the number of viewers go way up!! The saddest moment of the season and of the entire show wasn't even an option, everybody knows it's when Martha is watching a tape of Jonathan driving the tractor with young Clark and then Clark enters in the room and watches it too and breaks and cries out loud.
@kenpollock148614 күн бұрын
That was one of the most beautiful moments of the entire show. It actually brings together the whole point of what they say is a bad episode. So many emotions rolling through Clark’s mind; anger, sadness, depression, rage, need for revenge, accepting death, and ultimately saying goodbye, all these emotions that he can’t control or handle and it all unfolds in this unbelievably beautiful scene. It makes me cry every time I see it.

John hiding Kryptonite in the house is not stupid. How many times have they needed it already with Red K Clark for example, and someone else having Clark's powers with the lightning bolt swap. plus they started dealing with other kryptonians at the start of this season. It's a precausion, and a valid one.

I finally caught up to you guys! Just finished Season 5. And honestly, I always thought that the show was meant to end in the 5th Season (hence why Clark had the majority of his powers by the end of Season 2) and the show felt slowed down intentionally in Season 4, and Season 5 for the most part felt like a wrap up-until the very end when they were obviously renewed for a 6th Season. But also Season 6 and 7 were my two least favorite seasons when it was originally airing because those two felt like the show was just the same thing for a while. Maybe that’ll change as I rewatch Season 6.

So my recap of Season 5. Tuning in from So. Cal USA 🇺🇸 love the podcast gentlemen! It was a turning point for the show and the reason why the show went 5 more seasons. All the characters matured so much. Like Clark, Chloe, & Lana. Clark and Lana having the whole on again off again thing was a bit much for me. I knew it wasn’t going to end well but boy oh boy did Al and Miles milk that relationship. Clark continuing to lie to her because he had too and Lana pressuring him to “open up,” blah blah had me rolling my eyes. I’m like ah geez 🙄 here we go again. Clark and Lana’s scenes became really awkward 😬 especially after he got his powers back. On the bright side he and Lana made love and it was one of the most beautiful scenes ever. Milton Fine/Brainiac’s introduction is the main villain this season and definitely had ulterior motives. He was playing Clark and Lex all along and his intentions were revealed in the finale. Lois still in Clark’s orbit as just his friend at this point but there are still undertones of her destiny which will be with him. She always had the right advice to give to Clark and I always loved her affection for Chloe. Chloe is more like her sister than her actual sister Lucy. Lois always makes people feel like they can let their hair down in a manner of speaking. Johnathon’s death was very difficult to watch but necessary. He always knew that someday his life would have to be sacrificed for Clark. That’s what a good parent does for their child. Johnathon always had his misgivings about Jor-El but deep down he came to respect him. Johnathon’s guidance was no longer needed. It was time for Clark to embrace his birth father and his father’s teachings. Martha had to carry on without Johnathon and was always there to help Clark through the loss of his father and his final breakup with Lana. Lionel knowing Clark’s secret and being Jor-El’s vessel was kinda like taking Johnathon’s place. He could never be Johnathon but that’s how it seemed to me. Martha does have feelings for him. She might not love him the way she loved 🥰 Johnathon but there is something there. Martha left the city life behind when she married Johnathon and now that he passed on she is returning to her old roots and becomes a senator. Lex and Clark no longer friends by the end of this season was obvious. Lex begins to descend down the dark path this season more so than in previous ones. He lost Clark, his relationship with his father was never the best, everyone is always thinking he’s the “bad guy,” so he’s like “okay fine I will be the villain. I’m done trying to be nice.” Lex still secretly pined for Lana and was buying his time until she finally became his. The whole Clark and Lana breakup should have been done differently. I would have liked for Clark to have Lana’s memory erased of ever knowing him. That would have been a better storyline to go with IMO. Clark broke Lana’s heart and Lana went to the only person who could really understand her pain. Lex. They both bonded over their shared feelings about Clark “gaslighting,” them. They were both sick of Clark’s lame excuses and basically just gave up hope of him sharing with them his secret. That’s what some of the fans of the show have said anyways. I get it but IMO with as many times as Clark saved Lana and Lex they aren’t owed an explanation. They should have just been grateful to have been saved but instead they demanded the “truth.” If Lana & Lex truly cared about him they would have allowed him to open up on his terms. Lana FINALLY understood that but when she did it was too late. Lois and Chloe always understood Clark better. Chloe’s mom and her history of mental illness was brought up more this season and it showed a different side to Chloe as it does in the next season. Knowing Clark’s secret brought her closer to him. Clark feeling incredibly relieved 😌 someone knows his secret was a good angle. Chloe will always remain loyal to him even if it means putting her in a bad place with Lana. Which it does in season 6. The finale of this season hinted at a Clark/Chloe pairing as a couple but sadly it didn’t happen. Michael had commented last week that Chloe kissing Clark was uncalled for and being brought into a “love triangle,” again. That assumption IMO wasn’t true but to each their own. It made sense why she kissed him and there is no “love triangle.” We finished that in season 2. Then again Jimmy Olson’s arrival in season 6 as Chloe’s boyfriend does sorta go there for a love triangle for Clark as Jimmy can see Chloe harbors deep affection for Clark. Chloe remains as constant as the northern star. The brightest light that shines. I was so rooting for Clark and Chloe to be a couple but the “Clana,” fandom was too big at the time that if Clark and Chloe did go down that road the “Clana,” fandom would have lost their minds lol 😂 My message to Bryce, Tom, Michael, Ryan is this. Please open your minds to the fact that Clark and Chloe could have been an item and season 6 really really hints it so heavily. This season also introduced “Aquaman,” and “Cyborg,” which foreshadows the “Justice League,” being brought together in season 6 with Justin Hartley as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. 6x11 “Justice,” is one of the best Smallville episodes ever. That episode will surely get a 2 roses 🌹 score from Michael for sure. It’s actually Oliver Queen who helps to bring Clark out of the shadows. He comes to respect him and encourages him to use his abilities and join the “team.” Bart is also part of the team as well. They all know that Clark is a valuable asset as he has the most powers but is also the most vulnerable. Also season 5 for Smallville was the last season to be aired on the WB network when it went on strike for the writers strike or something like that. It then switched to what is now the CW network. Supernatural also got its start on the “WB,” and it was at this time they had finished their 3rd season I believe and when the strike happened weren’t sure if they were going to be renewed for a new season but they did and aired the same night as Smallville an hour later. Season 5 or Smallville might have been the strongest in terms of the writing but my favorite season is by far season 6. I don’t mind the freaks of the week episodes. They do have their place. The vampire episode didn’t really fit but it was still enjoyable to watch. This is the first season where they are no longer in high school so it had to be done differently than previous seasons. Please have Justin Hartley come on the podcast oh and Jensen!
