The hug was a great payoff to the season long buildup of "not hugging is kind of our thing." Wednesday grows and learns a lot about friendship through these 8 episodes, and all her friends come through for her at the end. Thanks for a great reaction, looking forward to Lord of the Rings!

They also learn about Wednesday -- her intense commitment to the truth, and to the people she cares about (Thing, Uncle Fester ... and her fellow outcasts, especially ones like Eugene, towards whom she feels an instant sisterly protectiveness). Just as she has to learn about and accept them, they have to learn about and accept her. It is growing *mutual* respect.

Jenna loved the leather jacket from the police station scene. most of her wardrobe didn't fit well. she was too busy for adjustments. hunters fave scene was the lose conversation with wednesday.

The hug works too because it was properly set up as Wednesday not liking it but in the end when her friends came through she allowed it 🥰

not only that... when enid hugs wednesday after the "bossbattle", wednesday slowly pushes enids hug off, looks at her and then wednesday hugs enid of her own imtention.... such a powerful moment...

I think I saw someone point out just how important that hug was to Wednesday. She's known for her stare. She never even God damn blinks. But her eyes were closed when she hugged Enid, showing complete trust.

People called it a "love triangle" with Wednesday, Tyler and Xavier, but she had no feelings for either one. Sure, she kissed Tyler, but not out of feelings, I think more of teenage curiousity.

Obviously she had feelings for Tylor ever since they first met. Even though she decided to stay at Nevermore, she continued meeting him. Also, she could've totally shut him down when he showed jealousy towards Xavier but instead she softly told him that she want to prioritize.

If it was just "teenage curiosity" she would've kissed Xavier. He was with her more often. Plus she kissed Tyler TWICE before she realized he was the Hyde

My take is that this 'love triangle' was more like something that Wednesday was interested in, in a kind of distant way, as an observer, almost. I also don't think the love-angle is a path the show àctually wants to follow. It's a nice way to reel in the teens, though. However, the writers already hinted at a far, fár darker Wednesday for next season, who is most certainly nòt interested in a relation other than friendship with people she trusts, and that even those friendships will be seriously tested. The writers also stated in one interview, that they, basically, already had plotted-out 4 seasons from the start. We'll see. I, for one, would lóve it when the show went more horror, more macabre, say, like the first Evil Dead series, with a bit of humour and whimsy sprinkled on top. Though, I don't think the studio/Netflix is actually brave enough to go that way.

I agree. Yeah, the writers said they have at least four seasons of Wednesday and Jenna said she and the writers are working to have Wednesday more focused on horror. Interesting you mention Netflix not being brave. Apparently the writers and Netflix fought over dark lines Wednesday says, like she likes stabbing and the writers won. Wednesday’s genre is horror and comedy. Dark humour is central to the series and given the success after Season One, I think Netflix won’t hold the Wednesday team back. Given how Wednesday is one of Netflix’s most popular shows, it’s very likely it’ll go to four seasons. So much to look forward to.

I agree with you 100% that Wednesday should probably stay single (her character is very dark struggling against emotions so finding someone that dark with semi-emotions?), Well maybe Tyler down the road now that he is free from Laurel Gates influence and if he has escaped from the Armored car he was in, if he goes to secretly live in the woods maybe he can become more at ease with what he is, because just like everyone at Nevermore, he is an Outcast. But I do like Wednesday being single, to much emotion kind of destroys her Character.

Love is an acronym, Labor Of Virous Emotions, until you understand what emotion you are laboring toward someone you will never understand love. Women base everything around their "feelings" therefore will never except logic and as a result facts go out the window. Ever tried to argue the point to a female, even though they know you are correct they will never agree because it never aligns with their feelings. To win an argument with a female facts and logic have to align with what they are feeling at that time. Good luck with navigating that minefield.

Weakest part of the series was Reems getting stabbed by Christina Ricci. It came off so cringe like. Poorly done. (Besides Gomez and Uncle Fester, horrible casting 😅)

gomez was a brilliant casting, as it´s actually the first gomez, that looks like the original... though i liked john astin and raul julia too.. and this fester was much closer to the fester from the 60s series than christopher loyd ever was....
