Great video, you showed the tricky parts, and it was very informative. I had already ordered a two pack because it was cheaper, on amazon, then I found your video. Turns out one was gen 1 which had stopped holding a charge, and the other gen2. I simply cut the connector off, spliced it and was able to use both batteries, and they are working great. gen 1 was a pita as you show in the video, gen 2 couldn't have been easier, and it took all of 15 seconds to replace. Thanks again, great job on the video and for the helpful info.

Ok, you are skilled. made it seem easy. Batteries arrived a couple of o hours ago, so ill go operate right now. I remember previous consoles controllers were a Royal Pain to bring apart, those triggers were like aligning micro sized rubiks cubes. Thanks for vid.

I just replaced the 1000mah battery with the 2000mah battery and the 2000mah battery is even worse. Smh. Its not even lasting up to 3 hours.

I did not know what to buy so I got Pro battery then had to change the connector I did not understand why the cable needed to change but I bought 5 ports to charge as I was paying for shipping I should have got larger capacity battery

Bought a replacement battery with the right model, but I'm either having two problems: 1. The battery is defective 2. The controller itself will no longer charge any batteries

You may be needing a new charging port or ribbon they usually come together

Hey so I have the same tool set as you but different battery I have a 2000mh one with 2 connectors it’s compatible with chu 1 and chu 2 I’m using it for a pro controller. So I ended up breaking the led plastic thing. Only place I can order a replacement part is “eBay For PS4 Pro 5.0 Slim 4.0 Game Controller Housing Transparent Light Sheet Cover “ if you type that in eBay or google it’s that part, I can’t find any place else that sales it. Or a video how to install it. I’m upset I had that controller from 2016 when I bought my pro. So I don’t want it to go to waste I put it back together it works fine but I want to replace that part so it looks like new vs some loose plastic. Here are some Other key words to look it up. “PS4 Pro Controller Housing Transparent Light Sheet Game Handle Light Cover”

Hi Patrick. Battery has been great and I’m still getting near double the standard battery length of about 8-10 hours of life. Highly suggested if you can do it.

I bought another ds4 controller but it's not original. although it works perfectly fine like the original controller except for the battery where it only last 2 hours. question, is it okay if I replace the battery into this PKCELL battery? and if it's okay, can I put adhesive tape (back to back tape) so the new battery would stick to the carrier? Hey man im a total noob with these stuffs, I just want to remove the dead battery on my controller, will it work if i just plug it using the usb cable? I have no plans on replacing the battery btw, and do i need to do some electrician stuffs to safely remove the battery and make it work? Or do i just unplug the battery and its done?

Hey there. Unfortunately we're unsure nor do we have any active testing available for this. We tried to research and we have HEARD that the controller can work while wired but with no battery. But sorry we can't confirm directly.

If its working with a dead battery. You can use the pad without one, effectively you haven't got one in because it's dead.

What charger would you recommend for this battery I just upgraded to this battery and using a Power A single dock charge station , is that Power A good enough or can I use my Samsung quick charger on it?

I've mainly used the standard charge option connecting to PS4. Keep in mind you're literally doubling the standard battery of 1000MAH to 2000MAH so charging should just be a tad longer but battery life doubled. I think both of your options should work fine.

You can find these on eBay. Do a search for the CUH-ZCT1 springs and triggers. They are very cheap.

Battery can be replaced in either generation. Only difference is the connection point which is mentioned in the video. The video itself is however done on a generation 1

i have a rather unique problem and no one has posted MY SPECIFIC problem on any forums that i can find. the controller that came with my fatty PS4 battery is worn to the point that the it only lasts about an hour, but every NEW controller I purchase has insane stickdrift, to the point that some games are unplayable this happens with EVERY new controller and no amount of "resetting" or "recalibrating" or "zero-ing" fixes the problem. what do i do?

Broke my only controller (not the person who made the video's fault). Sony, who do you think you are charging so much for a controller and then putting such a crappy battery in them that the user has to replace them using 3rd-party hardware.
