I’m overwhelmed. Tim Challies has honored our Lord God in a way that I am sure He is as proud of Tim’s righteousness, just as He was Job’s. Tim conveyed the message that though the Lord slay him, he will continue to trust. What a testimony! Praise God through whom all blessings flow!

Thank you Wretched for this episode. God has blessed me deeply with Tim's willingness to share his most sorrowful time of his life. My family and I are still grieving the tragic loss of our three year old daughter almost 18 months ago. Like Tim, God has shown us his goodness and His faithfulness. We miss her beyond words, and long for the day that we will all be in the presence of our lord and savior Jesus Christ together. Until then, we continue to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer. Thank you again, and I am definitely buying Tim's book! God Bless!!

What a painful start. We also lost two to miscarriage. Then we had 21 wonderful years with our only living child then she died. It has been many years of pain but there have been many many blessings along the way. Let this experience draw you closer to Jesus our eternal hope. Suffer well. I will pray for you. GOD ALMIGHTY will bring Tim Challies out of the loss of his son Nick victoriously! I pray that Almighty GOD in HIS divine Providence use Tim Challis mightily to GLORIFY HIM. ALMIGHTY GOD, please Bless Tim Challies and his beloved wife and his beloved daughters abundantly in each area of their lives. May GOD comfort their hearts and souls through His Word and strengthen them by the Power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within them. I am grateful and thankful to listening to Tim and Todd with the particular of "how long one should grieve a loved one gone to be with Jesus", I believe this is a point that has been the most painful for me in the loss of my husband of 34 yrs. I go through spurts of grieving because of the understanding that since He is with Jesus, I shouldn't feel pain. Guess what, after 10 months, yesterday, I am still feeling pain. I know where my husband is, however, I am missing him. Too much loss has happened in such a brief time that I haven't been able to catch up.

God is so good that He desired to have us - even though we dropped the ball big time - have fellowship with Him once again. For this reason, He sent His only son to die on a cross in our place so that we could be reconciled with Him again and, one day, live with Him in the heavenly realms. God decided to call Nick home where his soul doesn't have to deal with sin, pain, tears or any other malice ever again. For us, who remained on this side of the curtain, we rest assured that one day we'll cross this curtain and again meet our beloved ones - this time for ever, without having to say "good night, 'till then" ever again

Such a good message! It resonates because we have been through a similar situation. I agree--thanking God that we, too, had the doctrine of God's sovereignty settled in our minds before this challenge to our faith. Knowing God is good, able, and faithful, makes us able to trust Him. (Bad theology will let you down when something like this happens!) Trusting God’s character is what got us through our great sorrow. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name to the Lord! I had plenty of emotion (I hadn't been a crier before, either) but I didn't go through the "anger phase" that they tell you is normal. Nothing against anyone if they do, I just didn't. The individuality of each family member's grieving differently is so true! Physical pain, yes. Weight loss, sleep disturbance, depression, physical deterioration, yes. But healing is possible! Can't wait to order this book! I totally agree with the tending of the grave. We don't believe our son is "there," but it is the point from which his body will be resurrected on the last day. It's a way we can still care for him. Allowing people to grieve in their own way that helps them is vitally important to their recovery. "People grieve in sinful ways, but there are a variety of not-sinful ways..." By the way, it took 12 years for me to feel healed. I am not mentally ill. Grief can just take that long. It's a unique experience for each grieving individual, and for each one being grieved.

Well folks please pray for myself and wife. What is it saying about the church when I receive more from this video than our own pastors/leaders? We experienced a family tragedy in 2010. Then when we move on from it , things revisit and we deal all over again. Zip forward to 2016-today. A father succumbs to Alzheimer's, a father in law(known for majority of my life) to lung disease, then a best friend brother, then Corona happens, sister in law ( best girlfriend) who introduced us,succumb to a sudden death, mother in law from corona complication, and a church friend (not as close) then congregation shuts down claiming "safety concerns" , youngest children enter their lives on their own (empty nest). Brings us to today, and not being able to have three funerals from the above properly. (5 deaths in 2 years.) This past few years have been extremely trying, with having a pastor not willing to engage in conversation or spiritual counseling to top it off. So speaking of grief? Yes I mange to hold on with the thinnest thread mustard seed of faith . Yes you can work it through, but the platitudes and expected "recovery" time is insulting. It is especially difficult when too few around are of similar experience level in age or life season. Glad to see this video.
