Just got the Himalayan as my first bike, and will be getting this seat. I’m from a small town outside of council bluffs. living in a big city now, so it’s a joy watching these to remind me of home. Used to tube down the Nishnabotna too! Thanks so much for the video :)

Being on the WC of BC where cool MC stuff is made anywhere but here, I'm going to have to exhaust the possibility of making my own! Maybe jacking up the seat using longer bolts, stacking sheepskins or carving up an old yoga mat. You're right about the Himmi though.. they're lots of fun and love gravel. Wa-hoo!

@@forgottenmotorcycles update.. The seat concepts tall would have been my first choice but it's crazy expensive with $ conversion/shipping/duty etc.. so I took the seat cover off, staggered and glued layers of 1/2" carpet under pad where I wanted them. Then covered the whole thing with 1/4" thick wrapping foam. I was able to stretch and staple the original seat cover back on. It's firm but not too firm. An amazing improvement. My knees used to hit the tank bar ends, now they don't. I'm 6-2, the bike feels great. Wahoo! x2

My son has the Himalayan. I have a 2022 KLR 650. We did the Mid Atlantic BDR this summer. 1679 miles in 7 days. The Himalayan did everything the KLR did except faster highway speeds on the way home. We actually had mom come get the Himalayan just because we needed to do 430 miles in one day. On the trails the KLR was a beast lol did everything great, but I would have traded him in a heartbeat for the Himy just to ride a lighter bike. The one thing that stopped this bike from being great was the seat. I'm going to get him this seat. I think it will make the bike so much better! I have the seat concepts seat on mine as well. He's to cheap to buy it for himself lol.

Great video. I live in Houston now but I grew up in farm country in Western Pennsylvania. Your area there looks a great deal like where I am from.

Thank you. Have been to Houston a few time, all I can say is wow. I'm a small towner. Would love to ride Pennsylvania. May do that soon. Wahoo!

Looks great little more room to move around- illuminates that restraining curve . I like your narration on this video . Any issues with stalling at idle or while you're riding?. to your point: big power does not mean fun, it means danger. I love these lower weight, smaller displacement bikes for cruising around.. why we like the Hemi? expensive heavy adventure bikes have so many gizmos to control the power. These simple bikes let you be in command it's a visceral experience

You're right about the Hemi. I love mine. Stalling was an issue for me in the beginning. I finally took mine into the dealer, they swept the bike into the backroom and did something that solved 90% of that problem. Took the bike back a second time, again they ran the bike into a backroom and 30 minutes later that problem was solved. Have put thousands of miles on her without issue. Good dealer/shop is so important. Baxtercycle.com PS that seat is great. Wahoo!

Great video about the seat, very useful - I think I will get one. What make are your handlebar muffs and do they go over the standard handguards?
@forgottenmotorcycles
@forgottenmotorcycles Жыл бұрын
Thanks. The handlebar muffs are PAMASE ATV Hand Muffs from Amazon. Just looked and those exact muffs are no longer offered. There are other brands available from Amazon. The ones I use were about $25 new. This will be my third season using them. Love how they work. Wahoo!

Hi - thanks for the video! Just purchased a Himalayan and considering getting this seat as I'm 6'5". Wondering what finish you went with? What would match the stock seat finish best since I won't be replacing the rear seat. Semi grip or the "diamanté" top? Thanks again!

Hello, I think mine was carbon sides with the gripper top in tall. I've got about 600 miles on this seat and love it. Wahoo!

@ericmoses499 I’m also 6’5” and have been looking at the Himalayan after selling a r1200gsa. What has your experience been like on the Himalayan?

I love mods. However I can't wrap my mind around having to do all that work. Couldn't the company just make the thing?

Would it help with Leg room and space for shifting easier? Bought mx style boots and had trouble fitting under shifter (even after adjustment). I'm 6'1.

That is something I should have mentioned. It really did a lot for added leg room on the Himalayan. Very happy with it. Wahoo!

I just ordered the same tall seat for my Himalayan. How tall are you? I am worried I won't be able to touch the ground but I wanted something higher. Ride Safe

I'm 5'8 with a 30-in inseam. Took about 1 minute to get used to the seat. It is taller and you do have to pay attention but it works great. Absolutely love it.
