I never realised I was only coming up from the front foot! It seems very limited for my to move from the back foot, similarly to pistol squats. I believe I have some mechanical restraint from the ankle joints. I'll still work on it though

Keep exploring both the front and back foot to see where you may be lacking strength. Then hyper focus on that development.
