[Seattle] Fire Dept. Engine 25 & Aid 25 With Lights & Siren!

Captured here is SFD's Station 25, in the heart of the bustling Capitol Hill district. This part of Seattle is a densely populated residential area, as well as a hip location for restaurants and nightlife. More recently, this district also saw the rise of the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" during heavy protests in mid-2020. The fire station itself is home to Battalion 2, Engine 25, Ladder 10 (which, unfortunately, I was not able to catch on a call), and Aid Car 25. The 'Aid Unit', as they are also sometimes called in Seattle, is definitely the busiest vehicle at the station and responds to either minor medical calls or as a first responder unit to serious medical emergencies. In Seattle, Aid Cars are not ambulances and typically do not transport patients. As the name suggests, their main purpose is to quickly render first aid, until a crew of paramedics (usually in a so-called ‘Medic Unit’) can take over and transport the patient to the hospital.

Great footage - glad you were able to get at least a few engine responses along with the aid car! A few small corrections on the description: Aid Cars are staffed by firefighter/EMTs, and they respond to basic aid calls (aid calls might also be handled by an engine or truck). Medic units are staffed by firefighter/Paramedics, and they respond to calls with more serious injuries/illness. All transport is usually done by American Medical Response, a private ambulance company. The only time medic units transport is for critical patients, or if there's no AMR available. On the SFD dispatch page, the calls are: Aid Response: Aid car, truck or engine Medic Response: Aid response plus a medic unit Medic Response - 6 per rule: used for vehicle vs ped, falls, or excited delirium; Medic Response plus an additional aid unit Medic Response - 7 per rule: used for CPR in progress; same response as Med6 The Medical Supervisor (Medic 44) can also be added to runs depending on the severity of the injury/illness.

What are those big hoses they have hanging onto the trucks before they leave the station?

Because they are all part of Washington’s ‘Medic One’ emergency medical care system. It’s a bit of a complicated concept, but basically multiple agencies (like the Seattle fire department) are part of Medic One and follow a certain standards/ procedures/ training etc.
