I have lived all over King and Pierce counties and my #1 issue is traffic. I don't care about anything but being close to work. I can deal with everything else. I am from Texas and have lived her for 18 years and the traffic here is a nightmare and one of the worst in the nation.

If you have the $$$ certain Seattle Metros are okay. If you’re working or lower middle class I would strongly advise doing more research and moving elsewhere especially if you have family.

Puyallup to Seattle is awesome, if you live within walking distance to the Sounder station, like I do. 45 minutes. Traffic doesn't matter. Weather doesn't matter. Just sit back and enjoy the Wi-Fi. Puyallup to Redmond/Bellevue? Not so great.

Hi Bryce! Do you only work in Sales or do you help people as well in Renting? I will be moving to the Area from Dallas this next Summer 2024.

Consider the lifestyle you want, single or family. The east side is heavy family homes, downtown Bellevue has lots of great restaurants and bars, Issaquah has a number of good restaurants. A large number of my neighbors work for Microsoft, Amazon, other large companies in their IT. Next consideration, traffic, unlike some large cities with streets following a grid for miles, we don’t have that, so if you have a good tolerance for traffic and drive time, you can look further out to live. Best of luck.

Be sure to get the housing that comes with Kevlar insulation. Siding is easy to patch. You are not.

Don't move here until they fix the homeless/drug and public transport problems. Otherwise the insanely high cost of living is just not worth it. You are competing with at least 50,000 deca-millionaires, rich off microsoft stock options. Good luck getting decent housing for a reasonable price. You will pay 3-4k a month for 1000 sq ft of low quality housing. IMO not worth the cost of housing here, and all the rich microsoft guys ruined it for the rest of us. Oh yeah and the traffic is pretty terrible, and they are not building enough trains and dense housing. If you are super rich, seattle is ok, but if you are normal or just above average, not worth it.

Seattle is so broken that nowhere near the city or within its metropolitan area is safe for people. Time to let Seattle go the way of Detroit.
@livinginseattle-brycegreenleaf Жыл бұрын
That’s quite an extreme stance to take. I’ve lived in Seattle metro my whole life, in many different suburbs, and absolutely love it. There are MANY safe places to live.

The hilarious part of your statement is Seattle is already worse than Detroit

@@d.l.hemmingway3758 i grew up in the Detroit area and still have family there. I live in Bremerton and frequent Seattle often. Both for work and to visit in-laws. I am more than qualified to make that statement.
