Can you share whether the grinder setting was adjusted for the Velton's Bonsai Blend? I assume that depending on the coffee, one might need to tweak the grinder setting. It would be interesting if the team shared what settings they prefer with their favorite coffee.

Caffe Crema @10:58 is not a milk based coffee - just espresso based. I just got the Philips 5400 last week in the US (from a different retailer) and I really like it but I am still trying to see the difference between the Coffee and Caffe Crema pre-set drinks. Honestly these 2 drinks along with Espresso, Ristretto, and Espresso Lungo seem to be the same drink just different water volume - I don't think there is any other difference in the way they are brewed? It is convenient to have them pre-set and not have to reprogram the amount each time, but in essence there is no difference. I really like the fact that the machine can change between milk froth first for Cappuccino for example, and milk after coffee brewing for the Cafe au lait. Other comment about your review - the instruction say to take the LatteGo carafe off for hot water. I guess if you don't have milk in the carafe you can get the hot water with the carafe on but it will probably lower the temp and might be bad for the carafe? In any case, thanks for all your review videos you guys post!

How does the machine do when using milk alternatives like oat milk, almond milk , etc.?
@NoZenith3 жыл бұрын
They are more difficult to froth with there being less fats and stuff so it's more steamed milk than actually frothed. I believe Pacific has an oatmilk specifically called Barista Blend or something like that has additives to make it froth but I haven't tried that. They put gums and emulsifiers in so it stabilizes the bubbles so it's more like milk instead of being more like water. Irregardless of the type of milk you use you never really get quality cappuccino foam but that's not the point of something so convenient and yet still relatively affordable. My cousin actually mixes liquid coffee creamer with almond milk for her morning mug in her 3200

@Supersonicff-dw6bs Жыл бұрын
If you want to be able to just froth milk alone for things like hot chocolate, Chai Tea, etc., you must get the 4300. 3200 doesn't have that option. There are other differences as well, which are explained in the video.

The machine touts the ability to set up "Profiles" but they are useless. You go through all the steps to configure a coffee and it saves it. But then when you want to use it you can't just click on profile Blue or Green and hit "go" to make that preset. I asked the support people why and they said you might want to use one of the 8 different types. My wife just wants an espresso in the morning. I just want to select my wife's profile and hit "go" and get an espresso (set up the way she wants). I don't want to choose between 8 different types of coffee. I want to easily/quickly use the one I saved in the profile. These "Profiles" are a waste of time as they don't save any time at all.

@@marcovani8135 I went with the Lattego 5400 from Williams Sonoma, which I received 10 days ago. I’m loving it so far! My only complaints so far would be the water capacity, as it’s needs refilled frequently since it rinses upon power up and power down. Also, I wish the milk got hotter. When you just do frothed milk for hot chocolate, I find that the drink is warm, rather than hot.

Yes! You can either pour chocolate milk in the LatteGo container and use the milk froth option (quite tasty)...or use the hot water option and then mix powdered packets in your cup of steaming hot water. However this is an expensive machine and will be overpriced if you use it just for that.

You obviously can’t make two cappuccini at a time with that milk spout… but you can make two small strong black cups after heating some milk frothed or flat. While the coffee brews you whack the jug of frothed milk on the bench a couple of times to get rid of big bubbles, add quality. Then add the milk on top of the coffees with or without stylish pattern…. And in the quantity that suits, sip to check. Should take no longer than making cappuccino twice. The defined coffee types are just a guide. It’s clear with the three rows of settings that you can make whatever you want, experiment as much as you like. And of course when you buy different beans you have to do new settings.
@zconiglietti2 жыл бұрын
Actually not necessarily. As far the old Italians told me and showed me it's about how much milk you use and how much foam and what type of foam. I'm talking old school not this new barista Starbucks stuff. Cappuccino need to have a "cap" that can hold a coin or a biscotti. So if you ad milk before or after the point is to have the foam on the top shaped like a pointy cap. Not this latte art bs. You get a biscoti and a spoon and you have a couple of spoons of foam with your bisctotti and gossip about the newest things that happened. Then you continue drinking it. This is what I've saw, what I've learnt and how normal Italian people did it. Different rules for latte machiato espresso machiato caffee latte. It about the ratio of milk and foam etc. When I see a cappuccino without the "cappa" it's just meh... What's the point cuz you're probably making a café latte and a latte macchiatto with that mix...
