I have a 16,000 gallon pool and have used the Robot we call Mikey. I have used him for the last few months and have a rectangular pool with three stairs up on one side. He does a great job. The stairs are not always perfect but neither was the pool guy I used to use. In 3 1/2 months he has saved me what it cost for the pool guy and chemicals. I test with a Tailor 6 way from Ebay, chlorine and alkalinity up from Walmart and Muriatic acid from Ace. If he gets stuck on the stairs he lets out some of the water he is holding and floats off. I like the idea of attaching a float line to the robot. If the supplied hook slips off you can poke yourself with the pole. Good review. The only problem is with the application. Once he is underwater I lose contact.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't had a great experience with this robot at all and I can't recommend it to anyone. I have an in ground pool, rectangular, with a slight slope. It gets around the pool just fine, but I have an algae problem and it's very clear the the robot does not have great coverage. I have to run the robot several times a week just to get the pool to look OK (there are still green areas on the floor where the robot just missed again and again). Even with three times a week, the robot doesn't get where the walls meet the floor at all. There's always a clear very thick green line there. Probably because the robot seems to always take the walls at an odd angle instead of straight up. My pool has seating accross one of the walls and the robot just misses the whole seat somehow. And the water sensor on the robot is mounted so high that it can't clean my baja shelf, in fact, it often climbs up to the shelf, tips over and then gets stuck on it. At which point I have to go push it back in the pool.

Was this a “free for review product”? I’ve been looking into this cleaner and I like what I’ve seen so far, however, most reviews seem to be a free product for review situation. Also, you mentioned being able to change the battery, but I don’t seem to be able to find a replacement battery, or any replacement parts for that matter, for this vacuum. The only part I’ve found is a replacement tread for $90 dollars (dolphins treads are $18 in comparison). My worry is a lack of parts and customer support. What are your thoughts?

No! I purchased this myself because I was looking for a powerful pool cleaner to clean my pool. I have had no issues with this pool cleaner, but you can contact the manufacture about a replacement battery if you need to replace it.

I have this robot and now it just stays in one place. I switched it and tried using all 3 modes and still doesn’t work. Looks discontinued now. I can’t connect it Bluetooth anymore. Sea auto doesn’t have it on its website. Hopefully their support team can help. Only used it summer 2024

After having it for 5 months it broke. The right motor stopped working. Tried to get a replacement and they said they were out of stock until the end of June. Our pool is green so we just ordered a backup vacuum until we get the replacement

i really like that the battery is replaceable. my biggest fear with cordless is the battery degrading over time. how does it do with the the main drain? my previous robot would get stuck on it constantly

I have no issues with the drain part, and about the battery draining, its not too bad and you have the option to replace just the battery pack if need be.

7:08 I owned not one, but two of those Smorobot Tank X11 and they all had a huge failure point. What's happening with your robot is the sealed compartment where all the electronics, battery, and drive motors go is taking in water and shorting the ESP32 main board. The failure point is the pass thru connector for the cable coming from the charging port into the sealed compartment. Smorobot used a very badly designed connector there, and water pressure from the pool will always make their way in little by little.. that's why it lasts months, but its guaranteed to fail. Unfortunately, whenever this happens, there is nothing else to do. The robot is ready to be thrown in the garbage can. The smorobot also uses very cheap parts.... a $10 motherboard, about $30 worth of cheap brushed motors, and a $50 battery pack. That's all that's in there. Smorobot was making a $600 profit per robot on this thing. That's ridiculous. A complete rip-off. A couple of family members have purchased the Seauto Seal SE and it seems to be way better. I am about to buy one. Maybe I will not be dissapointed with the Seal SE as I was with the Tank X11.

Only works with flat bottom pools. If you have a kidney bean or oval shape it will get stuck and keep on rotating in a 3 foot circle. Disappointing…will try and return.
