After watching robot pool cleaner videos . Who had the best etc. I found your reviews. I didnt know if I shpuld go with or without cord. I saw you video review of the Seauto Shark Pro. It has the features I wanted and the price was awesome. Your review was spot on for my needs. I recieved it approx. 3 wks ago. So far iI have used it three times. And the waterline only feature was great. My pool is 16x32 approx 22,000 gal. With brand new pebble finish. We had a leak that required. The complete rebuilding the floor of the pool and skimmer replacement. After start upp I used my ne Seauto cleaner. What a great job. Charges up fast and cleans veru well. Thanks For your review and videos. If someone is thinking on buying one of these. It works great. Very happy . 4:42

I took a gamble with this company and was one of the first to buy this as there were no reviews yet lol so far I love it and it works really well. I do not like the sponge that came with it as it lasted one use. Turned brittle yellow and is now useless. ( my water was balanced so no clue why) just wanted to know if you or anyone else has had this issue. In the mean time, I bought a car wash sponge from the dollar store, cut it in half lengthwise and so far so good.
@imdefinitelydavid8 ай бұрын
That's exactly what happened after the first use with the sponge/filter. It's their design for an Ultra-Fine Filter and they made it that way I assume to have us replace it more often/cost us more money. It definitely doesn't last nearly as long as a pleated Ultra-Fine Filter does. That's a near trick with the car wash sponge!

Hello been using my seauto shark for about 4 days now. It works great love the water line cleaning mode and I'm happy with its performance. But the software for my android kinda sucks. It took me several times to connect to the pool cleaner? I don't know if that's just my phone my connection but that's the only problem I have had. It's very powerful and does an excellent job in cleaning and scrubbing and for the price you can't beat it. I would give this robot pool cleaner an A works great very happy with the results! Thank you so much for all your videos, and keep up the great work. 👍🏻
@imdefinitelydavid10 ай бұрын
Glad the videos helped! In regards to the connection to the cleaner, I also have a hit/miss time connecting and I have the most latest android phone. I would say it's more dependent on the wifi connection to the actual cleaner from your router than the actual phone. My pool is over 20 feet away from my main house wifi and I use a repeater to increase the signal to the back where my guest house is which happens to be next to my pool and it's spotty at best. I mean it's nice to have an online app to control it, but it's also a very basic app. But I agree, still a great cleaner for the price!

@imdefinitelydavid11 ай бұрын
Go for the Shark for sure! Watch the prices of the two and most times you can get the Shark within $30-$50 of the Seal. You get their version of an ultra-fine filter with the Shark and that Waterline Only cleaning mode is awesome. Never seen any other cleaner be able to focus ONLY on the waterline. Having a robot be able to clean just the waterline is awesome! Glad my reviews helped!

Hey David, check out the "Hydrus" model of this cleaner. It is on Woot right now for $214! I assume they are clearing them out to rebrand into the Dolphin but at $213 they are a steal. The "shark model is also available for $487. Based on all your videos I dont think the fine filter they include justifies that price increase, correct? Those filters constantly need to be replaced? thank you

I actually have the same issue. So I'm going to assume it's how the app is made. I can set it before putting into the pool but when trying to use the app in the water it's "disconnected". It's nice there's an app but it's really not useful at all

@P_double_H9 ай бұрын
Ok, for everyone wondering why the app won't work underwater.. the answer it's easy. Electromagnetic radiation doesn't travel well through water. The 2.4ghz signal Bluetooth or WiFi uses only goes a foot or 2 before it's stopped. This is not an issue with the Robot. It's simple physics. That explains why water submersibles are all tethered. Hope that helps.

can you buy a 2nd battery to cover those times when you need more cleaning time?
@imdefinitelydavid11 ай бұрын
That's actually a great idea... I just checked and the Shark battery goes for 200... pricey for a separate battery. Plus it would require screwing and unscrewing 6 screws each time. It's definitely not a quick disconnect/connect battery

Watch the price of the Shark for a week every day or so. It always goes on "sale" and there's always a "save 300 coupon" you have to clip on the site if it's the normal price. On a very good sale day you can get the price within 50-70 dollars! I have both the Seal and Shark and the Shark's waterline only mode and that cotton foam filter makes it worth it for sure

Does it clean the waterline above your ledge? My pool has a lot of benches (about 20" below the coping) and the cleaner that I currently have climbs randomly up on a bench and then flips over on its back or side. Thx.
@imdefinitelydavid10 ай бұрын
I think it would depend on how wide your bench is from the wall of the pool. How much surface area the cleaner has to actually climb up the side of the bench first, and then flatten itself ontop of the bench(this is the area that matters most) to get enough traction to go up the wall up the waterline, if that makes sense. I'm guessing your cleaner doesn't flatten itself at the top of the bench before going up the waterline and this causes it to flip over?

Hey man great video. Got a great price on the shark and also testing the seal. Any suggestions for charging? Can you do it outside or do you normally do it inside?
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
I have charged it inside sometimes but majority of the time I use an outlet outside like under my patio. Never had any issues charging outside. But obviously don't leave it connected in the rain in the open, unless it's under a patio or roof of some sort.

I haven't tried the Shark in a free form but seeing the Shark move easily up walls that go straight up makes me feel like in a free form it wouldn't have any issues since I assume your free form pool has walls that are more inclined or curved i should say. Like it wouldn't make sense if the Shark couldn't climb a lower inclined wall if it climbs a very steep straight one so well.

will the shark damage vinyl liner pools
@imdefinitelydavid11 ай бұрын
The Shark is aggressive. It moves fast and scrubs the waterline quite intensely. Because of that yes, I would worry about it damaging a vinyl lined pool.
It says it's for above ground pools too so idk how it would damage it?
@imdefinitelydavid9 ай бұрын
Most cleaners big name and small claim their cleaners are safe for vinyl lined pools but no one really knows for sure until someone actually tries it and uses it long enough in a vinyl pool. I don't have a vinyl pool but I've heard bad stories from friends about cleaners destroying their vinyl pools. IMO, the more aggressive a cleaner looks to be, the harsher it is on a vinyl pool. I mean, I love the Shark lol. And in this case, I most definitely hope I am wrong. The bad part is, no manufacturer will cover damage to your pool. It's just not included in their warranties, only the robots itself.

Common complaint. Virtually every review seems to mention problems with the wi-fi connection. I just ordered my Shark (haven't received it yet) knowing that I can't really rely on the wi-fi app. By the way, I don't think it's the app that's the problem... I think it's the internal receiver and wi-fi system built into the Shark itself.

I know it was discontinued for a while but didn't know they came back at such a high price. The app for seauto is terrible in general.
