And then later Steve proves to Tony that he was wrong about him-"everything special about you Rogers, came out of a bottle" ...well we'll see about that. There is a room full of world class scientist and Hawkeye is the only one who realises that the Tesseract is a portal. the best meme of this movie is the circular shot, where a memologist was like "when all of the smart kids in the class are grouped together for a project." LMAO and I fully agree. Military/government protocol/strategic intelligence (Captain America), STEM brilliance (Tony Stark & Dr. Banner), magic (Thor), and interpersonal/tactical/secrecy intelligence (Agent Natalia Romanov and Agent Clinton Barton). All of these things combined makes the Avengers the best teamup ever in superhero movies.

This is the best film in the MCU. There are plenty of great movies ahead and it's entirely worth watching them all IMO, but this film was (as you said) a masterpiece. It was so well crafted and pulled off something that literally no other movie before it had ever done. We take it for granted even though this was less than a decade ago, but this film was so hype and there was so much pressure and it was an experiment from film studios pulling together these multi-film narratives planned in advance and they knocked it out of the park.

The shwarma post credit scene was a very late addition. After the initial screening, they grabbed the actors and ran them down the street to a shop and shot it since everyone had become so used the stinger scenes. That's why Chris Evans is hiding his face, he had a beard in the scene due to shooting a different movie.
@dylancole19103 жыл бұрын
This was one of the best reactions to the Avengers I've seen yet and I enjoyed rewatching this film with you and I hope you watch them all now. Loki is possibly the most iconic villain in cinema history in my opinion. By the way, when Thor is confused by the flying monkey reference he isn't saying he doesn't know what a monkey is, he's just confused about the " flying" part. And Steve immediately gets it because he's probably read the book and or seen the movie because it was released in 1939 and he was around for it. 😄 In my opinion, the Hulk Chase with Nat and the Thor /Hulk fight is honestly the best scenes in the movie. So much suspense and action all at once it's very well done. Props to the special effects team and especially Mark Ruffalo for the scenes that led up to it, he truly is the best Hulk in the MCU and I'm sad he hasn't gotten his own standalone even if we've already got 4 others with other actors I'm just curious as to how he would handle the role in an origin film.

18:00 Cap didn't get excited about understanding that reference because he knows what a monkey is... it's because it's a reference to the Wizard of Oz, which came out in 1939, which Cap would have probably seen in movie theaters before going off to war. He is a man out of time who doesn't understand a lot of things and references people make to modern stuff... but he got that reference. Of course Thor being from a different planet didn't get the reference. But Cap was happy for a change to not be the clueless one.

When I tell you Joss set the tone to challenge the other directors for the other 2 Avengers movies ( side note: He wrote the 2nd Avengers movies, but there were too many people trying to play Captain of the ship telling him what they wanted added or changed. That stifled the creativity...and the movie fell short for me) ....he set the bar high. It was a glorious surprise because people were very nervous about them getting this ensembled cast to work perfectly in sync together. This is his bag, though. All of his shows are stellar classes in how to.... Yes, Avengers 3 and 4 are mind blowing....but this first one was like your very first thrill ride at an amusement park. "that's a big gun! a gun worthy of coulson" y'all this is a man who speaks my language! seb, you should, privately or for reactions, check out agents of shield! do also have a look at the bloopers for this film cause they are hilarious. also, while tony's answer to steve's question is kinda funny, there's so much more... "you're just a man in a suit. take that away, what are you?" he's the man who built the suit - that takes a certain kind of person.

I love it in Thor when he calls Colson "Son of Cole"..... Fury bet Cap $10 that he would see something that surprised him. ... "Can you actually imagine Hulk on that ship, it would be mad" (Hulk immediately turns)

Never been much of an Avengers fan, but watching this for the first time in theaters, I had the biggest smile on my face.

10:55 Earlier in the movie Captain America said he'd give 10 dollars if something surprised him. I'm only a year late, I'm sure this comment will be seen.

22:10 To be fair, Thor is canonically strong enough to deadlift the mass of the whole of Midgard (during the trials of Utgard-Loki). So if anything, he's been severely nerfed in the MCU :P

The line about flying monkeys referred to the witch in The Wizard of Oz. Steve gets frustrated cuz he doesn't get references to pop culture and gets excited when Fur mentions "flying monkeys" cuz he finally gets the reference 🤣

fun fact: for the time that he ruled Asgard Loki actually was the rightful king, his father went into the "Odinsleep", pretentious as it sounds and Thor was exiled. There is a deleted scene in which Frigga names him king and gives him Gungnir, the scepter, which surprises Loki since he didn't expect it. I never understood that they deleted that scene, it explains so much.

Loved your reaction love how you were blowing away by it all. I’m a big fan enjoyed the movie used to read all the Marvel comic books as a kid so all of this stuff is not new to me I pretty much knew how it was all going to roll out but it’s great seeing people react to this stuff that has never read the comic books there mind’s just totally blown away it’s quite funny.

I love how these giant flying creatures are a major threat in this but just become canon fodder in Endgame. Shows how much they’ve grown in power.

The actor that found Banner, naked, in the rubble of that building is Harry Dean Stanton. He asked Banner if he was an Alien. It just so happens that Stanton played Brett in the movie "Alien" (1979).

7:40 Steve “at this point, I doubt anything would surprise me” Nick: “$10 says you’re wrong. 10:50 Steve gives Nick $10” you can say the ship surprised him
