The girls who had been in front of me even said what the heck? No, it's because I'm a character attendant at The Magic Kingdom, and I work with them all the time, and know how Meet and Greets usually go down. As I’ve grown up, I’ve made plenty of friends who have has jobs being characters, even girls from high school who made it as princess’s. They have said the costumes are honestly really hard to see out of and often times you you have sweat in your eyes on hot days and you just have to stand there and deal poor visibility and don’t get to everyone and people get pissed.

I know this stuff happens, but trust me I've seen a lot of kids get left out by characters, Black and White. Because many times the characters are on strict time lines. They have to follow the time frames because the last thing you want is seeing two of the same character in the same place even for a second. Besides a lot of kids are annoying. I saw this one kids around 5 told multiple times that he couldn't pull on Mickey, it was during a dance party, and Mickey was in the crowd dancing like he was meant to. But this kid would not let up! They had to move Mickey away from the kid. And I'll say it the little boy was black. There were other black and white children that were told the same thing and they listened. The child's mother didn't seem to give a damn what he was doing, but she did drag him back to his stroller when Mickey was moving away. Again there are cases of people in costumes being asses, but you gotta remember that other kids might be the cause of things.

I have no sympathy for them because they are doing it for money. If the employee in the Donald suit actually said a racist remark and it got taped then I could definitely understand the uproar. The fact that the kid didn't get noticed is not something to get so angry about. Rm16 "Clearly she's just complaining for attention." Clearly she was upset that her child had to experience blatant racism. The stupid mascot *DELIBERATELY* ignored the black boy so that it could play with white children. How more obvious can you make it that you're racist? You're damn right she asked for fast passes. She wants her son to enjoy his visit and meet his favourite characters like the white children get to. None of this would have happened if the mascot wasn't racist. And the fact that this is the second claim just proves that there are racist employees.

Yeah I use to be a mascot, and there were certain kids when I went to give them hugs when asked too, they'd slap me in the face, and the family would just laugh. I that for three years, overtime I learned to read guest very carefully. Theres a lot of weight and pressure in those mask, and hurts a lot. Only people I could really let my guard down with as a mascot was children who were 6 and under.

Prankster Aleks actually Thant’s not true. It’s not possible for someone of a minority race to be possible. It’s called Prejudice. Race was a concept that categorized people based on the color of there skin but it was made to give white people power. Therefore it’s not possible for anyone that’s not white to be racist. 😐 sorry

Disney's face character casting works so that they hire people who are passionate about their work, and fit height requirements to be more than one character. They try to be as versatile as possible. It could just be one racist cast member. Not everything you see in a casting interview is what a person is. Also, it could've been one of their what I call 'distress' characters. They call in these people as a last resort and have very little training. It's more obvious with face characters rather than costumed characters, but it's the same thing nevertheless. They probably caught one of the distress characters on a bad day, and with someone with such little training in a Disney park, they probably weren't used to the line setup and got distracted. There's an infinite number of reasons why Donald ignored the kid, but it the real question is, how do we know that she was telling the truth? There is NO video, and you can make a kid say anything on camera. The mother didn't even come into the ABC10 studio for a live interview.
@vickiechandler31126 жыл бұрын
Disneyland's characters tend to roam more than have lines in a set spot like at Disney World so there really are no lines for them. Because of this they characters dont really stay put for a very long time or a line would form . They do a few pics, some autographs and they are off and moving. Sometimes they put cast members who are training into costumes as a pinch too.

I know this is just the mom being but hurt because she was missed. A while ago a Tigger who was walking RIGHT past a WHITE girl didn’t hear her nor see her and knocked her over. He apologized after and everything was fine. BUT this means it’s hard to hear and see out of those costumes. And I’m sure Donald is much more harder and hotter to perform in. The family that got missed just happened to be black. I’m sure if the boy was white he still would’ve got missed.

It is all about a fun and entertaining experience, I was a mascot for my school in my senior year. One time I was so sweaty I wanted to get the heck out of the costume, this mascot I'm almost positive was not in the right mind to be in the heat for the whole day.
@wadessirenvideos67503 жыл бұрын
It's heartbreaking when a child at a place like Disneyland has a reasonable request to have their picture taken with their favorite characters, and it ends up not taking place. It's also a very difficult job being in costume and being asked by many people at once to accommodate all of them. There is also the risk of the staff member in costume being kicked, bumped into, pushed over, or hit in various parts of the body, some of which are private. THIS DOES HAPPEN, AND SOMEBODY HAS TO BE THE ONE TAKING SUCH CHANCES. For this reason, a character in costume should always be accompanied by a staff member to "guard them" in case a guest attempts to physically abuse the character. Racism definitely could have been going on, which is against Disney policy. Even when the staff are going by the Disney standards and rules, there will be someone that is going to be unhappy no matter what.
