Just wanted to alert everyone that this is not a blend motor assembly, which governs temperature regulation via blending hot and cold air. This is a mode motor assembly that governs which vents and/or windshield defroster air is being supplied to. Official Honda/Acura part name: Motor Assembly, Mode. Hope this helps.

I just got done changing the actuator. The hardest part for me was getting the screw that you are trying to get out @7:58 out. What I did was drill a hold right on the metal pillar straight to the screw so I can use a small screwdriver to get that screw out. It turns out, my actuator wasn't dead, it was off of the white pin/part (whatever you call it). I changed it anyway. Thanks for the walkthrough taking off everything!!!

I just took my bottom tray out under the glove compartment hit the door actuator with a big wrench from underneath ( couldnt actually see it) but made it work again!!!!!! Worked like a charm. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the video, it was really helpful! I was hampered by an out of spec glide pin on the replacement actuator. I ended up swapping the track/pin assembly between the old and new part and it fixed my issue. Works great now!

Great Video... Mounting the motor is no charm either. I did not buy a motor, but decide to see if I could get it to work, these motors are not cheap. The tabs break easily if you are not careful and I did break a few, but as long as most of them are ok you should be good. Remember that the motor is getting mounted with 3 screws to keep it together. So, when you get it open, you will see one big gear and metal prongs to the connector. Mine had a alot of grease on them and the big gear surface. I wiped them off and the gear surface where there is metal plating. Leave any grease on the gear. with that done put the metal surce of the gear on the prongs and put the housing back together. If that is the cause, the motor will rotate once you connect the harness and the motor together and start the Pilot and run through the modes on the console. If the motor rotates then you are good, once you turn off the climate system the motor will rotate to a default state. You should be good to go and mount which takes awhile since it is buried, I used a towel to press against the motor housing and metal bracket until I could get one of the screws fully in. At least on my 2010 Touring Pilot, I was able to get to all the screws without taking out the bottom vent.

Nice video! Thanks for sharing! We have a 2009 Honda Pilot and the center AC vents stopped working. The Driver, Passenger and back and rear AC works and blows out fine. I've been searching and searching and couldn't find the cause and resolution to fix the center AC vents to work again. I’m having the same issue on my 2011 Honda Pilot EXL. I will be driving then all of a sudden my front center vents will stop blowing air. The drive Lh side and passenger rh side and the rear vents will still work but the front centers stop. They turn back on whenever they want

Thank you for the video. I just did this yesterday. After I was done, it would blow towards me, but when I switch modes to blow up, or floor, or anything it would still blow towards me. I see the actuator moving though. Only when I use the defrost button it switched. Other than that only blow towards me works now. Any ideas?

@@kaiyuenkong1955 possible you control is bad. Did you plug the new one and turn your selector knob to test the movement before installing. There are 2 actuator located closed to each other you may replace the wrong one. I suggest you take it apart and turn your ac knob or vent selector know to see it move. If doesn't move that mean it could me blown fuses or the ac climate control unit is bad. Good luck buddy
