Yes, this is correct because in chapter 527 tsunade states that the two brothers pushed him to the brink of death but they could not kill him. And also the two brothers died at the same exact age of 44 while Tobi Rama was closer to his '70s. Thus, the second hokage killed them both at the same time and died later on due to complications of war, but he stood on business and closed out their chapters.

This is not true. Chapter 527 states that the brothers push Tobirama to the brink of death. This is the words stated by the 5th hokage Tsunade. Thus, if he would have died there she would have stated it directly just like she would have stated jiraiyah was killed by pain. I only will they have had the direct source to know if he died or not. In that situation, it's because four of his students were alive back then to tell his niece the story. Thus, if they're saying they push them to the brink of death, they did not kill him, meaning Tobirama actually killed them all and most likely due to complications later on because of those wounds died but he was not killed by them. Most likely he made it back to the village and passed away later on due to those wounds being around the age of 70 while he smoked the two brothers at age 44.

If hashirama who was stronger than madara, (and madaras much weaker edo tensei state easily defeats armies, ) could be defeated , im pretty sure its believable. Even minor trickery such as sasuke's genjitsu showing danzo wrongly, by genjitsu the "wrong number of lives" could be all that was needed . Even a weakarse genjitsu that made him alter where he thinks his position in space is, even extremely subtly, for the shortest period of time, could make him fail to dodge a lethal jutsu (E.g. getting touched by pakura flames) This would make sense as to why the god like ninjas like Madara when he was alive , although powerful couldnt just "solo the entire world" and clans still fough each other in numerous wars.

Chapter 526 and 527 states that the two brothers pushed Tobirama to the brink of death, but thus means they did not kill him. This was stated by tsunade. Who is his niece not to mention the two elders who would lead the village with tsunade are also his pupils. No one would know the story better than his own students, thus he killed them all, made it back to the village and most likely died later on due to complications. Lord second stood on business and he always kept that shovel on him.
