I'm telling you, just like I said last time that bike isn't running right. I don't know if the timing is off or the firing order is wrong. Something's not right. Been around bikes my whole life. Used to race them for a short while. That is not what an inline four it's supposed to sound like. Do yourself a favor and get an official repair manual. You can find copies on eBay for like five bucks. Check the easy stuff first like timing and firing order. Then check to see what else could be wrong with the ignition system.

100%. The rebound on the rear shocks is too fast so it’s kicking the back up too quickly. If it’s not adjustable you may be able to put heavier weight oil in there. Some sway bars. And get higher up in the Rev range so when you stomp on the throttle on the lip of the jump. It’s more in the power band of that engine. Brilliant little project though. Preloading the shocks and using the enirsha from the tires spinning to pull the back end down. Edit: because maybe i'm not clear in the explanation, the spark removal test is the usual stuff, you remove a coil at a time with the engine running, as you know, BUT, there's one other thing you need to do, which is swapping the bad coil around, because there's that issue too. One other thing i'd check, how much ohms you're getting on your coils. Most JP bikes should be around 0.31~-0.33, the owner's manual should have the specific coil ohm value.

@THEjohnnywhopper3 жыл бұрын
Chris, this buggy is absolutely amazing. The jumping attitude is easily fixed with 2 things. 1 - preload. Look at a side shot of the floor pan when you're sitting in it. It is still raked down in the front. Take a little bit of preload off the rear and add a bunch to the front. You want the buggy to at least sit flat, or even up a half inch to an inch when fully loaded with driver. The second thing is just throttle control. Roll up to the jump slow and then whack the throttle like you're trying to do a wheelie. You dont have to hit it with a ton of speed if you're not comfortable. Go slow and get used to driving the nose up with the throttle. Sway bars will make a huge difference on this buggy for cornering/handling. I really dont think stiffening the shocks will have the result you're looking for. It'll just be bouncy and harsh. That thing looks like it handles the terrain amazing with the spring rates you have. It just needs a little help to stay flat and sway bars make a world of difference while not giving up bump / jump capability. Sway bar thickness will be trial and error but I can tell you that you're going to want to be a little thicker in the rear than the front based on the weight bias of your chassis layout. This thing is so sick man. Awesome job!

Okay love the channel, but A. never rev a cold engine it does all kinds of bad things to it! B. Get it running correctly before you tear it up. C. get lessons on how to drive a manual transmission! So first off, awesome job fixing the shifting and gearing. Seems to be perfect for its application. Never doubted you’d get it figured out. Second, as you and everyone else noticed, it was misfiring a lot (although it seemed a little better near the end of the video) . It seemed to be doing it under load. Start with the plugs. I’d clean and re-gap them or replace them, just to start. Then I’d check your resistance values of the coils to see if they are up to snuff. After that, I’d start with faults in the wiring. If it persists, there could potentially be a malfunctioning sensor. Once fixed, this thing will feel so much faster in the higher RPM range. Third, the jump. Personally I feel like that front suspension needs to stiffened up a bit. As it sits, it seems like the front just absorbs the jump, while the back (already preloaded from the weight transfer) is stiffer therefore less absorption and more launch. You’ll have way more confidence in jumping it once you can make it level out, trust me lol As always, love the content and admire your skill. 🤟🏻

No jumping skills at all, first you have to get the motor running right so you have instant response when you blurp the throttle at the crest of the jump

You will be blown away once you get it running right not on all 4 cylinders

Great job Chris, engine problems aside, you need to treat this machine like the beast that it can be, not the kitty that you make it look and sound like. I believe the word we're looking for is lead foot.

Maybe you shouldn’t rev it right after you start it😂

This thing is bad ass !!! keep the good work !!! love what you do! and keep in mind that it is very easy to comment other's people works. Way harder to create custom shit urself and showing it to peoples. Again keep the good work !!

you should put a kirkey seat in it, will get you lower and further back, and hold you in super tight to give you a little extra confidence. awesome project man!

The craftsmanship is awesome on this thing. The distance between driver and top bars is a broken neck or crushed skull waiting to happen. 1. Strap helmet; 2. Add restraints; 3. Raise the toll bar to give clearance. That thing is going to be screaming fast when the motor is dialed in and chaos will happen quickly.

Once you get that engine running right I want to see its hill crawling in its absolute lowest gear. Can't wait for the next video!

Swaybar, some higher compression valving in your front coilovers, sort the engine out, and you're just about finished 👍 Keep pushing your limits and making badass rigs my man 💪

Hey awesome job man, thing is badass. You are very talented. Cant wait to see the next video of you ripping it again. It looks awesome. Ignore all the broken records in the comments. You obviously know that you got some fine tuning. I dont know what everyone expects, It to be just perfect the first few times it hits the dirt? You built it from scratch In a shed. Again good job man.

It looks mean. Two suggestions, first to help with the leaning on turns try and recreate the suspension from the reverse trike's leaning suspension connected to the steering. Second, you have to take it to Cars and Cameras property and let John rip on it. I'm a big fan and watch all your videos, keep it up.

Chris, just an idea: Because of your talent to fabricate, you might be able to find a pro driver that will respect your building talents and help you with learning how to be a better driver. You could make a series of videos about the experience. Like I said, it’s just a suggestion.

That engine will never run right with that exhaust setup it is very important to have a good header .It is a vital part of the engines turning.
@Nevertrustalawyer3 жыл бұрын
@@mattbosen2854 My comment wasn’t aimed towards his engine performance, or header, but traditionally a 4 into 1 header is common. But the fact is, he could have run a 4 into 4, or 4 into 2. Keep in mind it was a used engine and when he drained the oil, water was in there. It’s possible one of the cylinders is not working, but I’m not there to test it.
@mattbosen28543 жыл бұрын
@@Nevertrustalawyer my comment was not aimed at your comment. I was simply stating that that engine needs a header to run properly. The set up that he made is not a header and will not scavenge the cylinders to let the engine breathe the way it was designed to.

@@mattbosen2854 That’s cool! I’m just trying to help Chris. I think he’s got some fabrication skills. I grew up riding and never spent much time building. Chris needs a lot more “seat time”.

It seems like you're not super confident in driving it yet, which is fair enough, but have more faith in yourself man, you're a fantastic builder and you can throw your builds around a bit more, they can handle it with how well built they are, love you man :)

I'm definitely put a sway bar on it get a 5-point harness for safety belt be careful kid don't want to see anything happening to you. You're a great fabricator keep up the great videos much respect to you and your channel.........

What’s the best way to stop the body roll on an independent suspension machine? Anti-Roll bars?
@TheTothtamas3 жыл бұрын
yes. and he shoud install it on the rear becouse it itroduces loss on traction while cornering, so rather owersteer than understeer.
