17 Mar 3310: The second of the eight Thargoid Titans, Titan Leigong, exploded shortly after 9 pm tonight. The Thargoid War seems certain to be over by the end of the year.

From what I've heard, there are also further pods available to pick up in the Titan's debris field after the caustic cloud dissipated. Just be sure to have some assistance at hand in case of interdiction.

@@VitalyNcrYT For our stats, we had to self-report, but many of our numbers contributed to DCoH, whose numbers can be found on their website by looking at the Titan's system and seeing the rescue count.

We should tread carefully. Their invasion should be defeated, but considering that Salvation used us to attempt genocide on them twice, their invasion was clearly a response to the second attempt. I mean how would we have reacted in their insectoid shoes? The same I would think.

It would make more sense to focus on Titans with heavier, intrenched positions, Because as the larger ones are ignored, they spread like weeds. The less populated ones won’t grow like Hadad and others will. The effort shouldn’t be so “one track” focused. Or if it is, go for the tough ones first, as they will be geometrically tougher when left to thrive.

Considering when the powerplay rework is meant to occur, that might well be the plan. ... although you may want to wait for the tougher Titans to be challenged to make any further estimates on "When it ends". Starting with Oya, which is actually one of those harder ones.

Forgive my scepticism, I find it unlikely that Frontier will remove Thargoids and we will be seeing them well into 2025. Adjustments made to Elite Dangerous have broken the in game commodities calculator, when shipping goods to stations I now need a calculator to help figure quantities out.

I missed the first one as I was out in the black. I made it in just in time for this one and I got to see it all in VR and OMG!!! It was one of the best sights I have seen!!! Well worth the trip.

Was this explosion different than the first one? It seems different... The startup the same, but the smoky explosion looks... Bigger? Do the titans have different strenghts?

It looked pretty much the same as Taranis to me. However, the main star of the system being an F type will have made lighting conditions better(despite further distance) and as such, made the explosion(s) be more noticeable.

Lol I hope it doesn’t. The player count got a huge boost because people wanted to come back and be there for the end of the war. If the end is actually months and months away people are just going to leave again.

My conjecture regarding the "end of the war", for what it's worth, is that (not suprisingly) each Titan will take progressively longer (due to their controlled systems, somewhat obviously), but, the Thargoids may respond to our new abilities to take the fight to them by creating new methods of resistance to their destruction... leading to the last Titan, perhaps, becoming too resistant/resiliant to take down at all... leading to a new Power Play entity, with Seo Jin-ae being their human representative in PPv2. On the other hand, Humanity may develop improved methods of attack using new Titan debris material, perhaps leading to defeat, or stalemate (so same outcome as above). What say you, all?
