Thats because it is! I think this is a sort of neutron pulse wave, similar to how the wakes of neutron stars work

The Titans hyperbolic orbit while in motion hint at a Magnetic-Toroidal Field, easiest to duplicate in a small super-cell. What we are seeing in your video is a simple-torus - hinting at a magnetic field. They likely recharge from stars during their travel through system with some sort of magnetic cell. We are unsure why the Thargoids need anything this large or why the Thargoid ships within, as well as the large Titans, don't just traverse the distances between Galaxies or even systems in their usual way 'Witch Space'.

On the outside of the center, it is the pulse. On the inside, it looks like this, and it will mess with your ship if you are in the blue.

Why is it massive, does it cause the maelstrom or is it just in it, why is it there, what's the point of it and what is it doing, is it alive or is it just being piloted, so many questions that probably won't be answered because they're a bunch of space assholes who have nothing better to do than blow up my 12 milion credit ship because I have a single damaged life pod that's probably empty anyway.

From what I heard (and did not bother to verify), the game engine is too ancient and odyssey was too rushed to make it performant enough (read: playable) on consoles. High end PCs have a problem keeping up, consoles just burst into flames.

Because they fucked up Odyssey so hard, that it might as well killed the whole franchise. I'm pretty sure all of that thargoid war stuff is a lore-friendly way to close the servers soon-ish, because the game is almost flatlined already.
