@@TheImpatientGardener Welp, you’re in good company 😂 b/c that (sans the gravel) was my punishment as a kid (West African household) and its common in many global cultures outside of the US. We survived and some of us are now gardeners who can appreciate that our “punishment” was actually preparation 😉🌱

So, I'm out in the porch with my first cup of coffee for the morning. I pick up my phone, pull up KZbin and see The Impatient Gardener has a new post. I pull it up and think "her video is a little out of focus. Maybe it will adjust." It did not but it wasn't too bad. I finish my coffee and went inside for a (much needed) second cup. What did I find on the counter beside my Keurig??? MY GLASSES! No problem at all with Erin's video. BTW - love the Belgium fence.

I love this idea of incorporating these pretty design elements into our gardens.While at a big box store I saw a pyracantha on a v shaped trellis and had the idea that I could do an esp allied one on my ugly chain link fence. Well 3 years later I am happy to report that the project is on target and loaded with flowers. I can not wait until all the orange berries appear covering that fence. I had to laugh when you said in my head this is what I imagine because that's exactly what I thought when I started this project. Here's to all the ideas in our heads may they grow!

I notched a rubber plant and it grew several side shoots, I cut off the top and rooted in water to get another plant.

Erin, the shorter Cosmos will be a refreshing change, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform. I've always grown the tall varieties, which tend to flop in the wind and/or rain. Your Belgian fence is really starting to fill in and looks great so far.

The cosmos will be gorgeous! Your Belgian fence is looking great! Thanks to watching your videos, I ordered dahlias last fall and started them in pots in late April and mid May. Today I was able to plant the ones started in April. It was so satisfying to see how much root growth there was. Thanks to you, I also staked them as soon as I planted them. Now I am filling in around them with other plants that my friend and I started. This will be so fun to see the progress as summer comes along.

The Belgian fence is growing so well. I just love them. Cosmos are one of my favorite annuals. Last year the only seeds I could find were the 3' to 4' ones. I didn't care. There they were so beautiful in my border garden 3' taller and wider then any other plant, lol. Love your channel. I also plant for deer!

Excited to see this. Searching KZbin for “Belgian fence” last year is how I discovered your channel! I’ve learned so much about gardening by watching all your videos since then! I just got my rain watering wand and quick-connect a couple of weeks ago. It’s much nicer than the leaky thing I had before. I have yet to start the Belgian fence or any espalier project yet though. My whole landscaping/gardening plans are still evolving. But excited to see the progress here!

Love the cosmos. I like that they’re shorter. The ones I grew last year seemed so leggy and floppy. Plus they got spider mites. I finally got sick of battling them and yanked them out.
