Can you recommend a good book, with waveforms and explanation, of different sensors,what to expect,how to test them etc etc? Thanks for the great videos .

No books come to mind. There are some good online resources like the picoscope waveform library, iATN, diag.net, and of course KZbin.

Nice video. Is it safe to connect your scope to the HT lead as shown in the video? My scope can only handle 20v so I have avoided testing any ignition systems.

If you are using an inductive type ignition lead (like shown in the video), it is safe. You never want to use a direct wired or back probed connection with secondary ignition.

@@AdamsAnalysis Appreciated the responce because its a bit of a mindfield. I use a 20:1 attenuator to help protect the scope as well. Gives me tolerance of 200v so hopefully will be able to use this method. Il do some more research before trying it though.

Is that HT25 lead only useful for plug wires? What about ignition coils?

Everybody get positive signals from HT 25 but I get negative signal on my scope, how come?
@AdamsAnalysis3 жыл бұрын
When selecting the probe type you should be able to select positive or negative fired. Toggling this should help give you a firing line that extends upward.

@@AdamsAnalysis I did copy the probe from the automotive software. Now it's positive signals.
