Cool. Those timbers do look kind of thin.

These Canadian mines are rough.

Ya, high humidity and freeze/thaw take it's toll on them. I much prefer the mines in Nevada where the timbers look like they were just placed yesterday. Thanks Fred!

Cobalt ontario has a bunch of abandoned mines that some have the cahones to go into lol, and there are some abandoned mines around kirkland lake and all the way out to quebec border but to find them you need very very old maps and a very good argo lol

Ya, been to a couple in Cobalt, they have some really good Mines there. Thanks John!

Just think Rob if you found enough Gold you could buy a Side by side. lol But then again if you have the same luck as I do then you would only find a hungry bear.🤣

I can't even find a hungry bear LOL! Thanks Man!

Hey Rob, how are you?, I'm good, trying to get into the Christmas spirit. Did you happen to find or see any amethyst in that mine? I'm not as familiar with quartz, but that's alright. Great content as always, and I like the variety of it, take care.

Most of the Amethyst was removed from the mine shortly after we first found it. That one wall had some really good deposits on it. Thanks Marc, take care!

Ohh! You've got Amethyst on that rock! And were there theres iron or Amethyst, the golds besides it!
@OutdoorRob23 күн бұрын
Usually yes. All the Amethyst was taken off by a prospector not long after this video. Thanks David!

What would they be mining for? I would have a hard time leaving the purple rock behind.

AT the time in the late 1800's it was Silver. Ya, the purple and black Amethyst is cool!

Is this mine within the Thunderbay district? I have visited dozens of old mine sites this year but just can't find one with an adit that goes in more than 10 metres. Any advice on how to find one worth strapping on a hardhat for? haha
@OutdoorRob6 ай бұрын
It is the Thunder Bay District but it's not that long of an adit. You'll have to travel east to find any hardhat worthy mines LOL. Cobalt Ontario has some big mines. The area between Rossport and Sault Ste Marie have a few that aren't real long but are enjoyable. Hard to find anything any good around here and lately with all the mining activity going on it's even harder to find a place that you can actually get to. If you can travel, Nevada is a mine explorers heaven. Good Luck Paul!

You don't have to worry about me looking for that mine because there is no way I would go in it !!!!

LOL! It's getting pretty sketchy in there for sure. Thanks Vance!
