For hypothesis test, do I need to check my independence condition? Are only the random and normal condition needed? I don’t want to lose credit for checking the independence condition when it’s not needed. Thank you

in my knowledge, you only need to check for independence if you have two or more samples and you won’t really lose points for it unless you somehow mess something up

Anytime a problem is selecting a sample at random from a population the 10% conditions needs checked so we can assume independence. When we sample from a population without replacement independence is violated, but as long as the sample size n is less than 10% of the population the difference is negligible hence we assume independence. Now in an experiment where the subjects are not randomly selected (but they are randomly assigned to treatments) we do not have to check the 10% condition since they were not randomly selected from a population. Hope that helps!

because the problem is proportion based we used z*, when the problem is a sample mean problem with using the standard deviation of the sample then you use t*

Hey Mr. Porinchak for the FRQ can I just write down calculator commands such as binomcdf(n=20,p=0.11385,upper=0.402) = 0.402

You should avoid writing anything down on an FRQ that is calculator based, like writing down normalcdf. Show work for z-score and what you are using normalcdf to find, for example, P(X > 27) = P(z > 1.24). Do not write normalcdf, you are just using it to get the answer. This is the same with any other calculator command.
