No idea. I don't read much fantasy, but I like the concept of this video (even if no one guesses correctly)

Thank you!:) Glad to hear that. I hope to add more videos like that!

Reading the "true" thoughts part reminded me of Eragon. But the rest doesn't sound like Eragon. So... Something of Ursula le Guin?

Not quite:)

I think I might have underestimated how obscure this book is hahah :))

Looks like you might have... But the concept is pretty cool!

"Your intense attraction to objects with holes in them, and that stems from your rejection from your mother" sheesh. I have no idea what it might be. I am a prolific reader, but I dont think I've read anything with the characters you describe
@BookFurnace Жыл бұрын
Well... it was a bit of an exaggeration, but the book is very Freudian in many weird ways.

Very interesting concept, but i don't read so i can't guess

Honestly, no idea what it is. The 'grounded feeling and historical events' along with 'phallic imagery' made me think of Sapkowski 'Tower of Fools', haha, the rest doesn't match though. But I liked the fromat, would watch more reviews not naming the book.

The next one is coming soon! I haven't read the 'Tower of Fools', by the way. Was it good?:)

@@BookFurnace I didn't like it, but not for some objective reason. It's very different from Witcher series - less character focused, for example - which was not what I expected and wanted to read at the time. Maybe I'll return to it one day.

Dune?
@BookFurnace Жыл бұрын
Hah, I could see that, but no :) Dune (at least the first book) I think, was a bit more resolved + less brutal.

He did indicate: -Medieval setting -Historical events of the past, meaning set in our world's history, not future -Elements of fantasy giving it an alternate spin

At first I thought Game of Thrones. Now I think, maybe, something by Ken Folett (Pillars of the Earth), though I don't remember him giving supernatural abilities to anyone. Some elements are really banal and some are too on-the-nose-over-sexualised. Probably don't know the book you're taking about 😂 Dune also came to mind (you already said no on that one).

No idea. Sounds weird.

A fantasy? Then I’m out. I’m going to wait for who wins. let the best reader win.

The next one will be science fiction :)

Did you say medieval pompous poetry? It must be The Poem of the Cid, composed by the Canticle of Banishment, Canticle of the Cid's Daughters' Wedding and Canticle to the Affront at Corpes. Where is my prize? 🙃
@BookFurnace Жыл бұрын
It's not quite poetry, rather a somewhat pompous prose.:)

Beowulf? :D

Correction/clarification: what I described is not one book, but a trilogy. They blended together a bit since they do not function as standalone books at all, so I forgot to mention it.
