I have to believe that Rhodey wasn't Skrulled until after Endgame (despite the clothes he was wearing). Gravik was sent to get the harvest after Endgame, so I don't think his plans had gone into action yet. Also, Rhodey bled during Engame and it was red. Although all that could be retconned. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but I hope the kidnapping didn't happen before Edngame.

I absolutely hope the kidnapping happened before Endgame; hell before Infinity War. Would make for a more compelling story to have Rhodey awaken and simply not have any knowledge of what's happened; the result of the Sokovia accords, Thanos' attack, the Blip, and the fact that his best friend is dead. It's a cool twist of the post-blip story where people have dealt with losing 5 years of their life.... for Rhodey, it could be longer than that, and a more impactive difference given that everything in regards to his superhero life is turned completely upside down.

He was a bit of an asshole in Infinity War and Endgame, it always felt a little out of character. Him being a skrull since before Infinity War makes so much sense and would actually deliver the stakes Secret Invasion should have. It also would be such a great setup for Armor Wars. A movie starring him as he’s been written recently is so less appealing to me than a movie about War Machine waking up from a 10-year coma and coming to terms with all he’s lost, including his best friend.

The Rhodey situation, some has pointed out that Rhodey was walking with Stark Tech in Infinity War and Endgame. The first time he walked without assistance was Falcon & Winter Soldier. Meaning Rhodey wasnt a Skrull until some time after Endgame.

I know! Their argument that he’s in a “the same hospital robe” as was in Civil War is insane!!! MOST hospital robes are the same! He walked with Stark tech in Endame! He was unconscious and woke up under the rubble Thanos made at the end of Endgame and wasn’t green! Most likely he went in to get something implanted in his back to let him walk without robot braces after Endgame and was in A HOSPITAL ROBE. Why the same robe? Probably because he was in the same (perhaps Stark Tech) hospital! The only thing revealed at the end was, he had been there “a long time!” The bigger question is, how and when did Martin Freeman’s character get grabbed and swapped! We last saw him rescued from custody and taken to Wakanda at the end of Wakanda Forever! Are there Skrulls infiltrating Wakanda? If the Skrulls can shape-shift into anything, are there Skrulls amongst Namor’s people? These are the big unanswered questions. Rhodey was obviously taken AFTER Endgame!

IF Marvel does manage to connect the dots between Secret Invasion and Armor Wars with Rhodey’s story, I’d love to see a PTSD angle. Like, maybe we see Rhodey sleeping and having nightmares of hearing Skrull Rhodey interact with people or he hears ghosts of Tony yelling at him for not being there for him when he died. Throughout the movie while he deals with the plot of Armor Wars, we just keep seeing his PTSD kick in would be AMAZING. But again, just being uber hopeful.

The only fix to the now ridiculous Super Skrull character is to say that it's either temporary, or that the body can't take using those powers and so it's always a choice between fighting or living longer. Both solutions are very cliche, but what else can you do with a character like this, other than write them out of the universe?

Rhodey had a spinal injury in civil war and thus would of been seeing a lot of doctors since then. It would be easier to take him at a doctors appointment. I have changed into a hospital gown when going in just for my yearly check up. So him being in a gown means nothing as it could of been at anytime after endgame

Gravik’s frustration with Fury had been building for decades and his “nuke the world” plan could’ve been in the works for a while. The DNA sample stuff was just what gave him the idea for super-skrulls, not necessarily the entire plan.

Hospital robes are ALL the same. That is NOT at all confirmation. He’s only a Skrull AFTER Endgame. We see him walking without mechanical help for the first time in Falcon & The Winter Soldier. It’s between Endgame and that, and then there onward that he’s the Skrull.

I'll say it again: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did the "everyone we care about is getting replaced" story in season 4 and they did it better on every possible level. There's just so much about this series that is frustrating. It's filled with terrific character moments between nearly poorly planned out plot decisions. And really, this finale was literally what the brilliant She-Hulk finale was making fun of, right down to the vile of blood/DNA. (Also, why would G'iah have Ghost's powers? She wasn't in the Endgame battle.)

Ghost was an agent for Shield and they were involved with fixing whatever issue she had health/power-wise. They definitely have her DNA. Ice powers are from a frost giant from one of Loki's attacks.

I'm with Tim, this is fun MCU soap opera and its not going anywhere. Lets be real...its MCU every few months, and even w/ a delay it would still be MCU 3-5 x's a year. Its like WWE, some will stay on it long term, others will fall off or remember specific eras/sagas....but Disney is never going to stop producing this stuff and putting a new spin on the same old same old.....just like the comics they came from. We're gonna be talking about Infinity saga like it was Attitude Era WWF and the new kids are gonna be talking about whatever thing comes next.

That young Skrull recruited in the beginning (green jacket) was teased and built up - to nothing. Her was no one, and died stupidly/needlessly. Everything about this show felt like it was leading up to an S-Tier reveal or event or consequence, yet nothing about it reached even A-Tier. 33:55 I think Marvel had the best TV and movie connection between S1 of Agents of SHIELD and Captain America: Winter Soldier. S1 AOS season finale was affected by the events of Winter Soldier. Unfortunately, Marvel Television and Marvel Studios couldn’t figure out how to work together so it’s been an issue ever since. Marvel Studios has shown it needed the television side to help carry the shows now that Marvel Television is no more.

Fury: I'm not calling the avengers cuz they might get taken and their powers copied. Also Fury: finds out skrulls already have some powers and hands them what they need to get more. Fury again: I'm still not calling the avengers cuz I need to finish this myself. Also fury: sends a skrull he barely knows with avengers DNA to hand over to gravik and for them to both get more powers. The acting was all around good, with Sam L and Cheadle stealing the show, but the plot here didn't work and was often contradictory

This show did nothing to confirm when Rhodey was skrull'd. They left it ambiguous at best. Ross literally asks the line "how long have you been here" and if they really wanted to confirm anything there would have been more to that. This is just them being cheeky about but confirming nothing.

Have to agree, how are you going to have a spy thriller show with shape-shifting aliens, and basically have no surprising reveals. Rhodey was the only hero involved and they decided to make it painfully obvious he's a Skrull, if they did a big twist and made Nick Fury a Skrull I would've been happier he wasn't acting like himself at all and that could have been the explanation but no turns out Nick was actually just off his game

If you count What If, this is the 9th MCU Disney+ show Tim, lmao. Not 6th. That's excluding the specials. Wanda, Falcon, Loki, What If, Hawkeye (that's 5 in 2021 alone lmao), Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk. It's bonkers and way too much. 9 MCU shows, 9 movies, 2 specials in 2.5 years lol. This show was extremely disappointing, shallow intrigue and subpar twists... worst than "The Departed"... dont worry Nick, I got you. Seriously this could have been written so much better, remove the lame Villian on Hero mirror fight, add more conversations with tension like In the bar, in the hotel room, over the phone with the president. I keep and will keep saying, these entries are just no longer entertaining with sparse moments of "oh my good, yes more of this".... moments like in moon knight episode 5, the front half of hawkeye, Finding Bradley in Flacon and Winter soldier. Just build something better around those great moments.

Every MCU Disney+ show that passes only makes me more and more nervous for Daredevil. Daredevil is one of the best pieces of superhero content, period. It’s not just about the mature rating, but the fact that none of these Disney+ shows come even close to the quality, except for Andor. Sam Jackson is damn good as Fury, but he deserved a better product than this. It’s not awful, but it’s rushed. More importantly, they couldn’t get me to care all that much.

I'm kind of overall meh on the series. Wasn't that terrible but I dont think ill ever rewatch it. As some people have pointed out, if Rhodey has been a scroll since Civil War, it would be really interesting to see his reaction to everything that's happened since then. The world being snapped for 5 years, everyone coming back, and finding out Tony is dead. That could be really interesting and I hope they tap into that if that's the case. Also, I love hearing their thoughts, but man if I had to take a shot eveytime Saige and Carboni cut someone off (mainly Tim) or talked over someone I'd probably be dead lol like I wish they would be more mindful of it

You can tell that Saige / Carboni were just thrown in at the last moment especially Saige thinking Jackson’s roles are all the same… She seems to think that Jackson acted the same when he portrayed Jules Winnfield, Mace Windu, Carl Lee Hailey, Nick Fury, Elijah Price, and other roles? Okay… I guess KF didn’t want to get involved in whatever is going on with those layoffs / and rumors with New Rockstars… which is weird that Tim or no one else mentioned the layoffs or anything…. Just business as usual I suppose. Now for the actual show itself… You give Sam M’FN Jackson a series focused on him (along with an otherwise stellar cast) and you decide this is the script and direction you want to give them… A big ol nothing burger is the result. So now Gi’ah (and Gravik was too)is the most powerful being on Earth. She one shots Gravik (who felt like one of the least impactful villains in the MCU) for reasons and short runtime wrap up… Rhodie’s been gone for a long time … NOT EXPLAINED…. And if they try to explain it, there were scenes in Infinity War and Endgame that would’ve caused him to shapeshift back… horrible writing if they go that route. The action was really pedestrian throughout the series minus 1-2 fight scenes. That ending battle was laughably bad imo. Going further back, it just seems like they threw logic out the window. When the president was down both in the firefight, it looked like motorcade wasn’t aware of fury / talos / Gravik as if they were green screened in in that scene. And then at the hospital the president’s detail was so light and only fury (one old man) was there to protect him. That kind of logic is just…. 😂 Gi’ah / Fury’s wife fights off some se attackers and they had red blood in episode 5, but then the cutaway to the house shows it was purple blood… it’s like they didn’t think any of the plot through for continuity’s sake. I just gotta laugh. MCU has fallen from grace. There’s several more examples but I’m done talking about this ****show that was Secret Invasion.

With Cull Obsidian (magic) and Carol Danvers (tesseract) does it even makes sense that simply getting there DNA could transfer their powers like this? I thought this was the worst episode of the season it built up to a wet fart & I didn’t enjoy it especially everyone’s acting 😂

This show was terrible and this episode was atrocious. Gravik was an atrocious villain and all of these characters were wasted. I bet they 100% retcon it so Rhodey was only a Skrull from right before TFATWS. Completely ruined his entire character arc and my excitement for Armor Wars. This show has potentially done irreparable damage to the MCU for me.
