My thoughts on the A.I intro is that to me it makes sense because while Erik makes some great points, I feel it's less about the tech VS xenophobia angle as it is about not trusting any information. I feel A.I perfectly encapsulates not being able to trust anyone or anything you see

I am only 8 minutes in but wanted to comment this before going further. On the conversation of is Nick really slipping or is he being performative, I think he was slipping in this episode because if he was multiple steps ahead and calculated like he normally is then I don't think Maria would have died, I think he would have seen the trap coming and played it differently. However I think now that he has seen that she was right and that him acting like he hasn't changed was gonna get someone hurt and with it being Hill someone he thinks of as a friend probably his best friend at this point since Coulsons death in Avengers, I think he will start being more calculating and deliberate with his actions in the rest of the episodes to try and turn the tables on the evil Skrulls and try to keep anyone else he cares about from dying.

I am so glad that they are keeping this show grounded just like “Civil War” we didn’t have enough characters in the roster for a comics accurate version, and also we still don’t have enough core heroes for “Secret Invasion”. Besides, I am fine with smaller scale stories and higher stakes.

I think Gi’ah is the bait, which is why they had her pay and do all that other stuff. They know she’s not completely part of the cause. Also the other shield agent. Sharon could be a skrull funding or providing equipment for the Skrulls. I think Hawkeye could show up as a surprise Skrull, but just an imposter without the memories

I genuinely hope Maria's death is a misdirect, because if it isn't...whoo, what a shit way to treat a character. She's been in so many of these projects, and Cobie always brings her "A" game...but they have NEVER given her anything to do, and we only like her because she's been a constant basically since the beginning. This show being the first time it actually makes sense for her to be around and have a ton of business, and they kill her off in the first ep...nah man, that sucks.

As others have pointed out, Talos' wife was the Skrull that played Hill as well, so theyve essentially set up that Hill was definitely not a Skrull ever and shes dead dead. UNLESS thats all a setup and Talos' wife isnt even dead or something crazy

The only thing I'll say about the AI opening is if, and that's a big IF, the opening of each episode going forward becomes less and less AI and more and more human made until the sixth and final episode is completely human made as the truth comes out throughout the show then I'll say it was a good call. But I'm giving them way too much credit to think that's what they'll do, ultimately the finger thing means the money

I like what they have set up so far, if they are able to stick the landing and present some cool twists then it will be a good show, if it ends up paint by the numbers though it will be fairly mid. The Talos twist that Tim suggests would be pretty cool, they could do the big twist that Fury is a Skrull the whole time and that's why he is making mistakes not that he is trying to trick others(would make the whole story somewhat inconsequential though).

Internet narratives gotta chill, they can't use AI? Why? Because of a writers strike? What's next they can't use photoshop? Visual fx? It fits perfectly with the show, and anyone who uses ai obviously can see there was a human hand and existing animatic/photos used to get across a specific tone and imagery. It's not like they typed "mcu streaming show intro" and got that. Everybody wants to scandalize everything. Let the show exist and stop acting like these teams of creatives are supposed to see every little "trigger" in the world. They could have had that intro idea done and concepted over a year ago....

It comes from a general misunderstanding of how easy ai software is to use, especially for consistent sequences like that. Like Erik demonstrated, people think it's "oh you put a prompt into a computer and it made your intro". Yeah, no. It takes a lot of artistry and work to put something like that together. That being said, i completely get tims point on the timing of it all.

Disagree HARD with Eric. Fans feelings and and fans connection to comics should not have any direct line to a director’s/artists process. I’m okay that they didn’t read the comics and I don’t think artists should. They should be doing their own things and telling stories differently. The comics and the MCU work differently and cannot work side by side. My problem with the AI intro is not that it exists, it’s the distracting conversation people are having about it. The hyperbolic reactions to this have been a bit absurd. I have serious issues with AI being used to usurp and steal assets from artists BUT at the same time its a tool that isn’t going away anytime soon. If it’s going to be used professionally I prefer it be used in this way where the art is created by and generated by Marvel Studios themselves. I can’t judge an entire tv show based off a 2min opening credits sequence and the amount of people I have seen doing just that has been ridiculous.
