Seeing Keanu again in a dystopian future got me working on my 2077 modlist to run that game back again. The analogy with the cockroach was intentional, roaches are associated with the unwanted, repulsive and outcast, which Keanu's character is. He shares more kinship with the roach than with people who are made like him or much of the human population of Armored Core's world and certainly not the serialized soldiers that corporations breed to fight in their endless wars. Like Cyberpunk it's about dehumanization and over time we become more and more like the roaches as all semblance of nobility or dignity is shed for profit.

I keep getting my ass kicked by the last boss in the first playthrough. That thing is cranky.

Kind of getting deep into symbolism on Armored Core (the episode), the touching of the finger before the squish is kind of a reference to The Creation of Adam by the artist Michelangelo (yes the ninja turtle). So you can kind of interpret it as man touching God as God is the machine (like deus ex machina [god from the machine]) or really the inverse, God touching man given how it's shot. Really not the wildest idea, it's been done before but it's kind of cool. Bring it up because that's kind of how Armored Core is written (and also why it's hard to make story trailers for the series). It's very esoteric with its plot and it kind of demands the player figure things out and interrupt it for themselves. It also stays away form a simple good vs evil plotline, so you get stories where everyone gets different ideas what is best. Like Armored Core 6 people debate over which ending is the "good" ending and you can make a case either way for all 3 endings. Kind of cool but also, it's a pretty dark series if you look into it.

Definitely got those Michelangelo vibes and the Sistine Chapel 🤩 cool that AC has that kind of vibe throughout

The wild thing that you learn about Armored Core is mostly wars are not even fought by countries, but by actual companies. Can't even remember if Earth gets into the shit condition it is cause of companies waging that war. (Obviously correct me if wrong)

@idkwhatcoolnametouse8987 16 күн бұрын
Earth going to shit was p much what happened between AC4 and 5, 6 is a new continuity but there are Earth references with the RLF merc Rokumonsen and Arquebus’ subsidiary Schneider.
@redfire1186
@redfire1186 15 күн бұрын
@idkwhatcoolnametouse8987 Yeah, but it still wild the fact the Earth being a mess is litteraly due to corps fighting between each others since protecting or standing up for their business became like fighting over a territory. Like, I'm not not shocked some big company would become equal to a nation, but it just blows my mind how companies laid waste to Earth with war, lol

Not gonna lie. When they showed that teaser pic of Keanu, I legit thought we were gonna get Johnny Silverhand’s backstory. I had no idea it was something Armored Core related and I freaked out thinking it was gonna be something about Johnny’s time as a soldier.

i never played, and dont know anything about the game, Crossfire, but i think the episode was fantastic. both sides saying "we're not the bad guys" and the civilian guy saying "i'm not a bad guy"; and the way it was made to be ambigous that we dont know who is the good guy or the bad guy. we dont know what was in the case, did he steal something to sell on the black market? did he steal something that would expose a corrupt government? we just dont know i love Armored Core, played multiple of the games. i love Keanu Reeves, and to me, there is a funny aspect to this episode. in Cyberpunk 2077, Keanu Reeves plays a character in your head, and in this, he plays someone with a character in his head and it makes me chuckle
