Someone had to have looked at puck, and built a temple to line up with the sun just right. And someone had to make the sword with pucks shape. This implies that puck once had worshipers who admired her or her kind before being isolated in the maze.
@VeXHarbinger24 күн бұрын
Your assumption is that this situation organically evolved. If it's origin is similar to the creation of game, opposed to lore in the game it reads differently. In this context the sword is a product of the creators and symbolizes their intrinsic bond when they they were simultaneously brought into existence. The whole of the situation sounds too symbiotic to be organic, else the puck could release several swordsman at once to attempt. If puck is the one releasing them at all that is.
@VeXHarbinger24 күн бұрын
Actually, I pondered this a bit more; I think you attributing the temple directly with/for Puck is also a bit shaky. I'd view that as more of a que for the viewer unless their sun always is in the same position all year long, VS how ours is seen throughout the year. Also, that would require Puck to bring the swordsman to the temple at a specific time of day for it to be appreciated by the swordsman, who wouldn't recognize the shape outside of his sword.

People always complain that studios don't experiment enough. Then when studios experiment they complain that they did, for any number of reasons from "it ruined the source material" (which is impossible) to simply "I don't like this why did they bother?" @carlll7596 It's still an experiment, and one that many people did like as much as others have complained. You're just saying you didn't like it. Ok, that's fine, but let's not act like that means it was an objectively bad idea to make this. Dark spins on simple games/ideas are usually very popular, they experimented in doing the same with pacman and for you the way they did it didn't work. Doesn't mean they shouldn't have bothered. You just didn't like it. Oh well, experiment over now we can move on instead of complaining for no reason?

You might be able to gaslight yourself into thinking trash sequels don't actively harm what came before it, but I need 9 movies to stop existing if I'm gonna have another movie set in the star wars universe that doesn't suck, so please stop lying to people who don't know any better.
@alansmithee4195 күн бұрын
@@lithuaniaball It's not a lie, we just have a difference of opinion. And while your opinion is valid I don't understand it, so I cannot honestly defend it to others. Explain to me conceptually how a new thing can ruin an old thing. You can still watch the old thing as a standalone experience and appreciate it for its original intent/your original interpretation without it being marred just because something new came out. It's not a lie to say that it is possible to separate two things as indeed being two things in your mind. Note: some of what I'm about to say is directed toward general behaviours I've noted in others who claim new shows have somehow ruined old ones. They are not directed at you unless you happen to also engage in the same behaviours. The idea that a new thing can somehow ruin something that existed before it for decades is to me an absurd idea that does nothing but make people miserable - much much more so than the existence of the newer thing would on its own. What if the sequel trilogy were non-canon, or only a spiritual successor? Would that improve things? If so, why can't you just pretend its non-canon? There's nothing stopping you from ignoring it and enjoying the original films as they are. Everyone would be a lot happier if everyone who didn't like the sequel trilogy just ignored it instead of tearing down everything and everyone that acknowledges or enjoys it. Just leave people to what they enjoy, and you stick to what you enjoy.

My interpretation is that none of them are Pac-man, to be more precise Puck and the swordsman are both halfs of Pac-man. And the fact that Puck is named well... Puck comfirms it for me. For those who don't know Pac-man was supposed to be called Puck-man but it was changed so that people wouldn't call it f*ck-man (plus it sounded similar to Paku Paku, wuch is the equivalent in japanese to the munch sound). So you have Puck and a man, therefore when they fuse they must become a Puck-man... or a Pac-man if you will.

The only thing I felt was missing was the looping maze.. if they just added one scene of him walking or running down a corridor and coming out the other side, that would’ve been sick. They could’ve even used it for the hunting/feeding montage… have him lead an enemy into the corridor and pop up behind it seemingly magically to ambush it, using the looping feature as an advantage like you do in the game.

Considering the very end, normally the player dies because a ghost catches them. Considering that the ghosts are immortal and are reformed when given time, making the ghosts as monsters means that there are countless of each species out there (as we saw with the Red ghost/Blinky). So, when the swordsman died, it was when he forcefully removed Puck, symbolizing the effects of the power pellet wearing off. And while that ultimately killed the man, gamewise, the ghosts killed before caught him in the end.

In my opinion, Circle is the best Secret Level episode, and its not even close. All the other episodes are just... showing an actual story from the game. They arent DOING anything. Theyre not telling us new information, theyre not showing us anything interesting or groundbreaking, hell, most of them arent even using new imagery. Circle is such a departure from the original, while keeping the LITERAL aspect of the game (hunger/eating) in tact, that its honestly kind of shocking ive never seen anything like this done before. Circle is the only episode of this series that can ACTUALLY be compared to Love, Death, & Robots. Its the only episode that didnt feel like it was just a cutscene from an already existing game, that gave us something new, that did something innovative with the property. Circle is literally the POINT of these short film experiments.

Ironically Puck refers too A mischievous "golden sprite" in English folklore (what is pac-man in our world a 2-D "Sprite correct?" Pac refers to the Paku-Paku or Gobble Gobble "EAT" sound effect that is prominent throughout the premise, as well as the term Pack or TEAM refernecing the duo teaming up to reach a common goal, "Escape." So roughly put Puck refers too A mischievous "sprite" who forms a "Pack" or TEAM with a Swords "MAN" to Paku Paku Or EAT their way thru the maze too escape. The fact Puck attempts to fuse & become a "Demonic Pac-man" trying to escape the Labyrinth or "PRISON" also further alligns with the "Mischievous Sprite" aspect of Puck. A truly Darker yet Biblically accurate interpretation of "Pac-Man."

Pause it near the end of the episode when you can see clearly see the red glowing symbol on face of the ghost/gorilla like monster. If you look at the red glowing symbol on the red ghost/gorilla like monsters forehead really closely, it looks like the symbol or picture of a swordsman and looks very similar to the swordsman who's exploits we watch throughout this episode, so my theory is that the ghosts/Gorilla like monsters are souls the previous "chosen ones" or A.K.A the previous swordsmen who were lied to by Pac/puck in an attempt for her to escape, and now the Lost souls of the previous swordsmen now manifest themselves as physical beings and devote themselves as ghosts/gorilla like monsters to stop and keep Pac/puck trapped, not to mention that Pac/Puck looks a lot like Gamp, and Gamp is the final boss of Xevious, and the door of the maze has symbols from the game Xevious that when translated refer to Gamp, Not to mention that the maze itself seems to be a fucked up amalgamation of all the old bandai namco games thrown together, I mean if you look closer the swordsmen wears a tattered flag that represents the faction of space forces that you the player control and pilot in both Xevious and Galaga, also when the swordsmen crosses the field, in the background you can see a bunch of defunct and Worn down and broken surface to air cannons just like the ones shooting at you when you play Xevious, and when the swordsmen looks back at the massive forested area where he came from, in the middle of the forest where he originated from is a massive crashed spaceship, and there's nothing else that's metal besides the spaceship so I'm pretty sure that the swordsmen woke up inside of a cryogenic pod within the massive crashed wreckage, also the Swordsmen fights and kills enemies from other bandai namco games, Such as Giant Centipede, and a giant spider which are enemies from the game Centipede. This is so far everything that I have noticed currently, I will be rewatching this episode over and over very carefully to see if I can find any more references to any more Bandai namco games and if you notice anything else that I missed please let me know and keep me posted on anything you find because there's definitely a hidden story here, we all just need to look closer for the context clues...

So, I had a unique experience with Circle. I was cooking while watching secret levels and I missed the title screen. While it was playing I didn't actually know what I was watching. And yes even with all the insanely obvious clues, even more obvious in hindsight, I had no idea it was Pac-Man. Honestly I didn't even notice the first second puck took on the iconic shape. It was the second or third flash when I realized. Yes, I felt VERY stupid. However.. I loved it. I had seen the new game trailer too. I didn't really know what to make of it. I told my friends that Pac-Man had gotten edge Lord, but honestly edgelord can be a good thing if done the right way. Like, Shadow the hedgehog. I never liked Shadow but it's a good example. I will admit that the tone seems a little bit off in the game trailer. The giant black ooze Pac-Man, thats genuinely imposing in Secret levels, has a cartoonish burp in the game trailer. I remember that ruining the vibe. It's a little weird but not a deal-breaker. Circle might have a tone problem too, but maybe not. I really like the beasts not being real ghosts. That's a cool twist. But it does make everything that Puck said extremely wierd. Again, this could be a good thing. I'm hoping that Puck is genuinely insane. That sounds like a lot of fun. Overall I love the Pac-Man direction. The game trailer and Circle gave me unsure vibes at first but ultimately I've fallen on the side of being excited for this story. It's the good kind of jarring. I'm actually going to get this game if I can.

The Sifu one was my favorite! purely because I love the game and enjoyed how they made changes to the story. Granted the o their episodes were also god-tier but I liked the Sifu episode the best! PAC-MAN being a close second

Would’ve been cool if it also made a take that to the Ms Pac-Man legal issues. Like the Man seeing a pink bow and about to pick it up, but then Puck stops him and says: “Don’t. It will destroy you”

9:20 Bro that outro is SO much scarier in context with the rest of the video! 😫 Anyway, I'm only picking them based on my interests. Mega Man was a must watch, then I watched the Pac Man episode after learning about that. After seeing the HELLDIVERS clips though, I'm definitely not watching all of them. That look like trash tbh... the Helldivers were cool, but every other aspect was cringe. Plus the Helldivers would NEVER see an enemy and not start using every explosive in their arsenal, you know? I am interested in the Armored Core episode after you showed a clip of it though. That's what you show at 0:45 right? I'm assuming as someone who knows nothing about Armored Core. GREAT video btw.

Inspired by pacman and also holds allot of mentions on other games as well! The centipede monster or something might be also a reference to another game as well! 😉

Until Shadow Labyrinth was finally revealed, I genuinely had to wonder what the idea was making Pac-Man into something dark and strange, but with the context that it was not original for the show I was a lot more interested. While I'm not fond of the idea of a show taking its own entirely new spin, I love it when the devs themselves go into a new direction because I feel they have the best idea of how to go from a base when they need to execute the idea in the same medium, and interpretation from there is just down to what narrative elements need to be brought into anshow

it did look like a trailer a bit more than it was animated short

I actually really enjoyed the episode. I thought it was going to be something simple and silly, and was instead left with my jaw dropped.

I am more accepting of this pac-man then the gritty reboot of bomber-man on the old x-box

What did the mega man episode do that you like it the most? Nothing happens and just like 90% of all episodes it teases action just too end with nothing. “Cool he suits up and then it ends” 🤷♂️

I'll watch it. But thinking about it now. Pac-man reminds me a lot of a hunt and four hunters. And moments when the hunters become the hunted.

If Pac-Man was this cool and dark Imagine if Kirby was in secret levels

I’m happy they did something experimental with the Pac Man episode instead of playing it safe with an overly safe, generic cartoony episode that’s “faithful” to the source material. Let’s be honest, if you don’t go insane out of the box with Pac Man as a concept there’s really not much you can do with him.

I hope and pray that the secret level series does games like “death stranding” and “red dead redemption.” They actually hit the mark with this show.❤
