I grew up just outside of the old mining town of cliftonville wv the site of a riot that killed over 200 miners and the sheriff of brooke county it's a piece of wv history that needs to be told. Our beautiful state is full of legend and lore ,facts and lies. Good and evil.

Sid Hatfield? Is that the sheriff you are talking about? I read about that once if that’s who you are talking about, the Pinkerton thugs shot Sid on the courthouse steps in front of everyone and none of them got in trouble. Crazy stuff.

Mostly, I agree with this comment. Since we cannot confirm the account presented here is accurate I won't agree that the research is "awesome". But it's highly entertaining, and he does have a good voice for video.
@AmericanMythology2 жыл бұрын
You could confirm it, if you wanted to do the research yourself. It’s taken me years to track it all down, but I have read every primary source for this story. The memoirs of Daniel Cunningham are a good place to start. That being said, there’s a reason this channel is called American Mythology. With stories like these, you often have to fill in the gaps with oral history which isn’t always verifiable. I try to separate out the lore from the facts, but at the end of the day what I’m presenting is exactly as advertised “folklore, history, and the stories we tell.”

Went looking in that clearing and saw a pale women, she turned and showed a face with bleeding eyes, and as she screamed the moon went dark. Says he and his buddy didnt stop running until they got in the door of their homes.

Life is complete, ideals don't exsist to complete the perfection they represent, life itself does that. Life is the tool by which ideals are both produced and realized. Ideals don't concretely represent the indescribable feelings produced with them. It's the desire we carry for an ideal which produces satisfaction, not the ideal.

Great video, but imma have a pseud moment every time someone mentions that continental parody philosopher. Another good reminder why I don't read books on philosophy period. Gather your own dialectical forest of strawmen, then parse them yourself.

Your story which centers around Lacey Boggs is incorrect, the photo you're using of her is not right , that lady in the photos name is Sofie Cambell ,she lived in the Smokey Mountains outside of Gatlinburg with her husband Tom ,she stayed there till her death in the mid thirties, this information can be found in the archives of the Great Smokey Mountain National Park via George Grant, or just Google her name that photo will pop up
