Both Canary and Mauritius pyramids are quite puzzling, as they're obviously very rough compared to most other pyramids found around the world, but they nonetheless follow the same basic alignment principles. To be fair they match the construction capabilities of a people living in such remote locations with no access to proper tools, they are also solid, with no chambers, so it makes one wonder what purpose they might have had. It is possible that the early inhabitants of the islands were immigrants from a land where actual pyramids where present, and it was their way to preserve tradition. There are also theories claiming pyramids and obelisks stimulate crop growth, but it's not a field I'm knowledgeable about so I have no opinion about it, I guess we'll never know for sure, like for any other pyramid, the only thing I'm almost 100% sure about is that they weren't built by farmers or field workers in the 1940s, as rough or not it's still no small feat, if they piled the rocks for the pyramids they would have had no time for the crops, as it still requires planning, preparation and manpower.
