@@protestant77 if you know how melanin works, (the chemicals that effect color of the skin), you’d know that if a group of darker skinned people were forced over to places that doesn’t get as much sun as the Middle East, like Europe, their peoples skin would become lighter after a few hundred years since their melanin levels go down. Melanin makes the skin darker in order to protect it from the sun. Higher levels of melanin = darker skin. Lower levels of melanin = lighter skin. Ashkenazim were forced over to euroupe after the Roman’s took over but not all Jews are Ashkenazim. Some Jews were forced over to other places in the Middle East aswell as in the Mediterranean area and North Africa, etc. if you look up Sephardic and mizrahi Jews, you’d notice that their skin was dark only because they stayed in warmer ereas with more sun therefore their melanin levels stayed the same.
