You seem like a nice guy and all carpet guys should stick together because we're on the same team but if I did my metals like this I would probably get fired lol. The angles actually off and one side lifted off the floor they're not lined up and if you use a hammer you ding up the whole finished edge I've used to hammer a couple of times because the rubber Hammer wasn't around and got called back to every single job to replace it. They have Metals now that have slits in the bottom so you can turn it or you can make your own by cutting slits in the bottom that grips the carpet lots of slits and then you can turn the metal with no seam or just overlap It Make pencil mark and then cut it... Cool video though cheers!

Concept is dead on, quality is dead off. Gapped, 45 cut way too fat, should of put smooth edge close to the vinyl so the tap down has something to set on and not rest at an angle. Love your videos, and the house may of been a POS, so that work flies, but I've seen you free hand seams so i know you can put a better end result out with a piece of tap down lol

I want to reuse my metal carpet/ vinyl strip. Is it possible to open up the piece that gets left showing

Did you leave the pad covering the tacks on the metal? If you did then you couldn't have stretched the carpet on to it. You should at least explain some of these things so do it yourselfers understand some what's going on.

I've seen some bent at a 45 angle.

ReinSman100 yea buddy, I’ve seen that too! I personally haven’t done it like that but it’s probably the easiest diy method to knock it out

Just buy a mitre block and do it properly and why the hell would you dress that bar down by whacking it down with a hammer?

You get much better results if you use a miter box and saw.
