Secretarybird marches to the waterhole

First video footage of a Secretarybird (Sagittarius serpentarius) at the Namib Desert waterhole. This is bird of prey is endemic to Africa.

That is one big bird. They have their eyes on a swivel but so far no mayhem just refreshment life giving waters.

Didn't know secretary birds lived in southern Africa. A long legged ground raptor adapted to grasslands has survived thru habitat change gone desert. Fewer snakes farther dispersed must mean the bird has adapted by changing to new prey types. The secretary bird will be ready if and when the grasslands return.
