Alex Rodriguez ruined his friendship with Derek Jeter ... and then they became teammates

Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter weren't just great young shortstops at the same time-- they were best friends. But that friendship got complicated when Rodriguez played better, Jeter won a lot more, and then A-Rod got the biggest contract in MLB history and used the occasion to kinda disparage his buddy's skills. Things were awkward for a few years ... and then they became teammates on the Yankees. This is a long, delicate beef that may still be unfolding.

Sooo we made this video for y'all. I guess we do that with every video, but this one especially. We put up a poll a while back and Beef History was the show you most wanted to see another episode. So we made sure to get an extra one in this month...and then managed to make it extra long. Hope you enjoy, hope you know we appreciate you, and now back to the video mine to dig out something you'll hopefully enjoy.

Barber had several feuds with Michael Strahan, Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin and then retired in his prime....only to see them win the Super Bowl the next year. And ever since his broadcasting career has gone down the toilet he has done everything he can to get back in the Giants good graces, like claiming Eli was better than Peyton and trying to meet with Coughlin only to get turned down. As a NYer and a lifelong Yankees Fan let me save you some time here. A-Rod came to the Yankees as the far superior defensive shortstop, it’s not even close how much more range he had than Jeter, yet he played 3B ONLY because it was “Jeter’s Team.” If Jeter really wanted the best for the team he would have said let Alex play Short, and I’ll play 2nd or 3rd. We won’t even get into the offensive numbers, Jeter was awesome offensively but A-Rod’s numbers were already legendary. Jeter never embraced A-Rod as a Yankee. I don’t think he ever wanted A-Rod there and honestly I think it was all for selfish reasons.

One of my best friends for years was always inserting himself into situations he didn’t belong and was always talking about things he didn’t really have a place to talk about. At the time I didn’t get along with my cousin, he was also friends with her and several times family drama was started when he talked about me to her. Just needless things ya know? I finally sat him down and said “stop talking about me to other people! If my cousin asks what’s going on in my life, just tell her I’m fine and if she wants to know something she should ask me”

But the problem began when the media started to compare those two. It's the media's fault for instigating their feud.
