It’s crazy how Shaq and Kobe won 3 championships together (in a row) and they somehow underachieved imo. It is great that Shaq and Kobe mended fences before he passed. Shaq’s story about telling Kobe “there’s no ‘I’ in team” and him replying “but there’s an “‘m e’ motherf***er” cracked me up. 😂

MJ>Kobe>>Magic=Wilt>Bird>Curry>Shaq=Hakeem=Duncan then the Wade -KD, and somewhere there LBJ. Guys Like Nowitzki, Stockton are underrated. Kobe and Shaq are Not underrated. They are both Top-Ten of Best Player we have seen so far. Jokic, Doncic and Wemby will be rememberend of this Era.

@Joel-yp5ld easy call. Curry changed the game. Everyone want to shoot Like the Chef. LBJ killed the game. Traveling, flopping, being on steroids at diddy Parties, the Bronny Show, the list goes on and on. Btw Olympics Finals?! Who served the dinner? Durability and longlivity don't make you to one of the best ever. You have to change the game. Like kareem, Magic, Bird, Mike, even Iverson, Kobes Mamba Mentality, shaqs dominance.. And: The Clutch! LBJ in Clutchtime? I would rather send muggsy bogues to a dunk or Shaq to the Line then givin LBJ the ball.

What an awesome video! as much as I enjoyed the lakers documentary on Hulu, it left out some bigger parts of Kobe and Shaq’s era together in LA.
@selalewis91899 сағат бұрын
Because they only made it to tell their story of the Lakers because _Winning Time_ in their view, didn’t depict them well. They were never interested in telling a full, honest story of the franchise because they’re too close to the story. _Winning Time_ was and, had they’d gotten a season three renewal, would have covered the Shaq/Kobe era.

@mewtwo7375Күн бұрын
Shaq was lazy, and Kobe hated engaging with his teammates, and those were good reasons for them to hate each other. Even if those factors didn't cause friction, they probably would've parted ways still. Kobe wanted to prove he could win the title without Shaq and do it as the undisputed leader, and Shaq wasn't going to give up the role as the main guy. If the friction wasn't there, their egos were still too big to coexist forever. Sometimes, a team isn't big enough for two big names.

If Michael Jordan did not injure his finger, the Lakers dynasty would've never ended prematurely. Might've even extended into the early 2010's, with Horace, Pip, Ron Harper, MJ retiring in the mid 2000's, more accomplished than ever (I believe the Glove and some dude from Utah would've never joined LA if MJ was there), with prime Kobe and Shaq picking up where they left off. Hear me out. If MJ didn't injure his finger on a cigar freak accident, he would've joined LA with the Lakers, and Shaq will definitely be forced to work on his free throws and conditioning. He knows there are alpha dogs, and he knows there is THE alpha dog.

In all reality if it was anybody but shaq even if it was another all time great this duo wouldnt have worked, history tells us even with immense talent if the chemistry isnt there it rarely ever works so even though now we look back and say ofc it worked they were really the outlier with all the turmoil they had going on. I think even in old age and retirement idk that they ever truly got over everything i always felt like the tv sit down and stuff was alot to do with PR, i dont think kobe and shaq were ever really that close to begin cause it wasn’t like they were great friends that had a bad breakup, they were never close or saw eye to eye from the jump, i think a producer had the idea of sitting them down together and thought it would be good tv (which it was) but theyre just such different people i think what made them incompatible off the court is what made them great on the court
