To be fair that wasn’t even an “ultra chad” shot. It was pretty bad and likely results in 2 town dying D1. Especially given the fake sheriff found a trickster that could’ve been two town members in that accusation. But really a sheriff finding someone sus N1 is a pretty likely event, and taking a deputy shot on that is an incredibly pointless risk, it’s better to hold your shot to take back majority from coven, or to take out a 100% confirmed evil to confirm yourself. I would be willing to bet though that if Kobe saved that shot they would’ve shot Pipe and then said to vote 10 basically handing coven the win. I would say that Deputy random shots should count as throwing especially when the person claiming a TI role finds a person with a weak claim to be potentially evil.

@@Vearru another point to note that even for a real sheriff, sus results are still not 100% reliable, thanks to enchanters and tricksters. the only reason i would see to shoot that early is if seer claims you are enemies with someone and you have to shoot to avoid getting upped

Amne just nerfs town for litterally no reason. by mainig it random you are essentially delaying one town member's role for probably one more day, so they get their role on d2 instead of d1. The strength of amne is that they can basically revive a role. once a deputy shoots they are kind of a free kill but the threat of an amne becoming deputy and getting another shot is enough to make evils think twice. all they need is to bring back the choice aspect of amne, even if they limit it to town only.

Amne isn't designed for all any. It is designed for relatively static rolelists like Ranked, and is basically intended to be a one-of fixed role in lists that are balanced around a guaranteed TPow so them dying N1 doesn't just screw Town over, allowing them to NOT make the D1 TP/LO request and thus be able to fakeclaim to throw of any Rit or Doomsayer the list may allow for.

IMO give the agency back. You can pick any town but you can use their ability the same night instead of having to wait. However once you commit that's it. You are locked in. You still do nothing n1 no matter what but in exchange have flexibility.

The fun part of Amne has always been the freedom to do ANYTHING vs the fear of dying without making a choice. Being forced not only to go town every time but ALSo not getting to pick. You might as well just get a town role from the start so you dont risk dying without even getting to win as a townie.

the whole point of amne was being able to choose your role (albeit to a limited degree). the way it works in TOS2 completely defeats the purpose of the role. there should be no problem with just choosing. the perks of picking a strong role would be balanced by the fact that you basically have no role until the one you want dies

@@Maalithian The problem with old amne is they could play kingmaker. So back in ToS1 any amne/survivor claim was either killed / pushed to be lynched in games with me. For I could not know for certain they would be on my side, so it was better they were dead than fear betrayal.

Since the ret buff that allows them to use the same body multiple times, amne just feels like worse ret. Seeing as you don't get to choose your town role its basically just basic town that gets their actual role assigned to them one day later. Its only good when a tpow dies n1 as that means town doesn't actually lose the tpow otherwise its just worse then getting the role at the start of game. Amne really needs a big rework.

Amni is basicly just random town the long way around. Cant do anything N1 or possibly even N2 if no townies die N1. only real perk is if a Tpow dies N1 coven isnt expecting that role to pop back out agian later in the game. otherwise may as well deleate the role and just be a random townie.

The role is designed for rolelists like ranked, where Town losing their Tpow N1 throws the list's balance out the window but having them always make a D1 TP/LO request means they just die to Rit N2 or Conj D2 and the same problem happens anyway. A single guaranteed Amne in the list means the Tpow can sit there and be silent D1 and if they happen to die N1 the Amne takes over and the list's balance is maintained.

Amne having no control over what they pick or when they pick it makes it not only unfun, but also purposeless. There's already a random role selection before the game starts. Why delay that process for that role? What is being added to the game by doing that? "Well," one of the creators might say, "in a role list the amne allows for interesting double-ups on roles that die on night 1." But even if I go along with that, that sounds like a game mode, not a player's character. And the Ret already fills that role, but in a more interesting way that has true play affordance.

When pressed for it, but if you can cart them around yourself (and you're good enough of a player to essentially play multiple roles at once), it can be better to simply keep them in, if only to use them as you see fit. Also the risk of them being Spicy for losing and gamethrowing in their will by revealing all their teammates, it does happen.

Amne seems incredibly unfun because at best, it gives town a second chance to have a Tpow that died D1, but most of the time you just get a normal role except ypu cant do anything N1. Honestly Anme should be changed into Neutral role again, but can choose to randomly remember ANY ROLE in the graveyard at the point of remembering Example: An Amne decides he wants to remember a role on night 3 with a Seer, an SK, a Cleric and a Hex, the Anme would then randomly become one of those roles if he survives the night The idea could be tweaked to maybe force the Anme to remember at a certain moment to avoid kingmakers but it would definitely be more interesting than current Amne

amne sounds like you get to be the second person to have a unique role (for lack of a better term), and at worst effectively just a non-amne town role who couldnt do anything night one. there doesnt seem to be a point for amne to be ingame

I know it's not enough to make coroner good, but I wish the game could tell the coroner whenever the killer they're looking for died. This not only means they're not looking for a dead killer, it could also help finding out "wait, there's more than 1 SK/ww/whatever" if, for example, you autopsy someone who died to a NK, the same type of NK dies, but the game doesn't tell you the killer died.

Yeah ToS1 Amne was one of my favorite roles because you could flexibly roll with the flow of the game - move to the winning side, join a side that's losing to perhaps turn it into winnable, etc. But ToS2 Amne has absolutely zero agency and gets forced to Town and can't even pick which role they get. Extremely disappointing. Would rather it be reverted to a Neutral or straight-up axed than what it currently is.

Amne feels kind of pointless in its current form because it's basically just random town role after 1 or 2 nights. I understand why they made it a town only role to avoid games that swing purely on which alignment amne picks. However, why not still allow amne to choose when and what town role to turn into. That way there is at least some strategy in terms of do you just become the first town role you see in the graveyard or do you wait for something really good to come along.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get the point of ToS2 amne? Since you don’t get to pick your role from the graveyard, and you’re always gonna remember D2 or if no town died, D3, what’s even the point of being “amne” for the first night? It doesn’t change the experience of the game at all, at most you’re a TI who had one night less to gather info, and that’s the only significant difference between playing amne or a regular TI. If you become amne ret or vigi on D2 then there’s literally no difference, since for both of these you’d also not be able to perform your ability N1. Basically, I think the new amne is completely pointless and might as well be removed from the game. It adds nothing to the experience and it’s basically the equivalent of getting your role sorted in the middle of the game rather than the start.

Its actually really good if you become one of the town power roles. Losing one of those N1 could really put town on the back foot, and having an amne negates that, so it becomes a bit of an early comeback/security mechanic. Though i agree its not exactly a good role

Seems like it’s only useful in a very specific circumstance, so I still don’t think it justifies its existence. The odds of losing a Tpow N1 are pretty low, although it is pretty bad for town if it does happen. Not to mention this same effect of replacing a lost TPow could be achieved with ToS1 amne (choosing your role from the graveyard), which I think was a way more fun role overall.
