Secrets of Being Santa: Suits and Apparel

Welcome to the Jr. Claus Workshop! We started out with a small video series called “Secrets of Being Santa” here on our KZbin channel. We’ve since moved most of our online content to www.JrClausWorkshop.com where patrons can enjoy links to all of Santa Stuart’s gear, research material, sewing patterns, and recommended Santa shops. About the Host:
Stuart Deacon Jr. began performing as a traditional Santa Claus in 2016. Since then, he's found ways to enhance his personal look through utilizing the internet, without breaking the bank. As a Video Production student at BYU-Idaho, Stuart has used his skills to advertise his services, build and manage his own website, create original video content, and stay within a budget. Having always loved Christmas, Stuart has followed in his grandfather's footsteps by putting on the red suit. In 2018, Stuart built his own custom Santa sleigh and is now taking part in and overseeing the development of new costume pieces that are based in part on the Tim Allen Santa suits.

I just got an Ahititi brand Santa suit off Amazon for under 100 and it turned out pretty good.

If the suit fits it fits. There are so many different body types which can make it difficult for stock suits to fit everyone. But if it fits, it fits.

Do you wear the Halco velveteen suit? I've also noticed Rubies has velveteen for cheap, but I don't trust their products. The plush definitely bleeds.

The Halco Velveteen is the best semi budget mass produced suit out there. It's far better than Rubie's products no matter the price bracket. The fur however should be upgraded some seasons down the line.

love your video, well done, as we get further into our portrayal look at custom suits, have been portraying the jolly old man for 15 years I finally broke down and bought suit from Sant and Co, LLC, made of wool, not really a costume like the bag ones, a true suit, lined with cool mesh, brass zipper , vented, stirrups to keel legs in boot, pockets in pants etc. Check them out.

The best Santa Claus costume is the one of "THE SANTA CLAUSE 2" with Tim Allen

The only problem with this costume is that it is not commercialized, the version of "THE SANTA CLAUSE (1)" is but it is less beautiful.

I liked the first one more, it was more unique and inventive. I'm more into traditional/old time santa suits anyway, since the american version never looked like a real suit to me. Unpractical and not functional.

Santa wears velvet, wool and fur. He is a Nordic legend and dresses for cold weather. No polyester Santa Suits. Go real, go big, or go home. Nobody enjoys a discount Santa.

Depending on one's budget, I find it perfectly alright to start off with something that doesn't break the bank. In the long run, those who want to continue doing this on a higher level than most, will consider better quality fabric and gear.
