About the Host: Stuart Deacon Jr. began performing as a traditional Santa Claus in 2016. Since then, he's found ways to enhance his personal look through utilizing the internet, without breaking the bank. As a Video Production student at BYU-Idaho, Stuart has used his skills to advertise his services, build and manage his own website, create original video content, and stay within a budget. Having always loved Christmas, Stuart has followed in his grandfather's footsteps by putting on the red suit. In 2018, Stuart built his own custom Santa sleigh and is now taking part in and overseeing the development of new costume pieces that are based in part on the Tim Allen Santa suits.

I think it'd maybe be helpful to show the work, even if you don't feel it's good, plenty of us out here have less time on the needle n thread. If we see your beginnings, we can have something to aim for and we can gain knowledge as you explain what you figure to do different next time. Thanks again for all your efforts and a huge thank you for all the smiles you make with your Santamission

I like the color and amount of detail on the Tim Allen suit, but I never liked the puffy fur balls (buttons maybe?) on the front of the suit instead of the fur liner on the front, and I also wasn't fond of how Allen's hat was shaped. I think your suit is definitely more my style, and it was great that you included so many nice details. The Santa suit on the remake of Miracle on 34th Street was probably my favorite, and I can't count the number of times I rewatched that scene of him putting on the suit before he goes out into the department store. I was a die hard santa fanatic as a kid and the Santa Clause movies and Mo34th St were like magic to me. I would even dress up in a santa suit of my own that my mom let me bring home from school (my mom was a kindergarten teacher and had made a small suit that was actually way more detailed than any off-the-shelf suits for their christmas show that the kindergarteners did every year). I seriously wanted to be Santa Claus when I grew up for probably three or four years there when I was a little kid. I was, and in many ways still am, enamored with everything Santa. One day after school around christmas time when I was five or so, my mom had put a little decorative sleigh out in the living room by the fireplace. I immediately realized it was just the right size for five-year-old me, and a few minutes later, I've got my santa suit on and begin role-playing Santa as I so often liked to do. I had the sleigh but still needed a reindeer to attach it to, so of course I go get my partner in crime, my jack russell terrier, Scooter, to play the part of the reindeer. I go and get Scooter's leash, hook him up, and begin rigging him up to my sleigh. As soon as I get done rigging him up to the sleigh, he takes off running through the house without me on board. Loud noises ensue as a jack russell towing a wooden sleigh with metal tracts is chased through the house by a five year old in a full santa outfit. My mother died laughing and still recalls that event to this day, lol. So many good memories. And fear not, your effort in this suit is not wasted, even in small children. I ALWAYS could tell if someone had on a nice, deep red santa suit, or a cheap, bright red, fake-looking one even as a young child. I appreciate your passion, and I'm sure you're part of many young children's special memories as well.

No worries! Hope you enjoy what little videos we have on the KZbin channel (there are more on the website of course). I find customizing what you can to suit one's needs is really nice especially when many of the suits out on the market are made in stock. There's nothing better than knowing your suit is YOUR suit and it probably won't fit anyone else. I've been so busy lately producing Season 02 of the Jr. Claus Workshop that I haven't worked at all on my second suit (a Coca - Cola inspired one) in almost a year! In the future I may have the funds to hire a tailor, but right now it's just me and my little sewing machine trying to figure how everything fits together.

never a problem with pant leg coming out of boot... answers elastic stirrups.
@TheSantaClausWorkshop
@TheSantaClausWorkshop 4 жыл бұрын
That is also another creative answer! I used to tape mine down, but the cheap suits I started out with didn't work well with how long my legs were. And my boots aren't knee high like some get-ups have, they're more mid calf. Once in my power, I couldn't resist but make the problem more manageable!

Santa Jack here. Do you have a pattern for your Allen hat?
@TheSantaClausWorkshop
@TheSantaClausWorkshop 4 жыл бұрын
Ooo, great question! That's the one thing I didn't base on an existing pattern. Really it's just a long triangle of fabric and the trim looks the way it does cause I doubled it up (fur on inside as well as outside).

Santa Stuart, Since ur a cool person who likes Santa! How do u actually spell Clause??? Bcz I spell it with an “e” and the end but sometimes I see it with no e online. So HOW DO U REALLY SPELL CLAUSE!? or Claus
@TheSantaClausWorkshop
@TheSantaClausWorkshop 3 жыл бұрын
Clause and Claus are two different words. Santa Claus is spelled without an e. "Clause" meaning a separate article or paragraph has an e. Tim Allen's The Santa Clause is a play on words as he became Santa Claus because of The Santa Clause on the card he pulled out. That is why a whole generation of people do not know how to properly distinguish between Santa Claus and the pun intended title of The Santa Clause with Tim Allen.
