For the most part, she cried with relief, happy for Brody - for helping to get rid of the terrorist, keep the deal and save her life. - Jacob Clifton time! THE BODY It’s not just the future. Sometimes it’s the past we travel to; find ourselves stuck in. She’s not about glory, she’s not about pride. Her service is much more humble than that. She never wanted to be the girl who saved the world: She’s tasked with being the girl who didn’t end it. Whose power holds her to that standard? This body is how she accomplishes that. Part of her, the loudest possible and loneliest piece of her, lives eleven years ago. Horror and smoke and blood, all the time. “You must be happy,” they’ll all say. “You must feel so satisfied.” But she is neither of those things. She is a girl who left the brightest part of herself back in the past, screaming for help. Begging to come home. There is a grim pleasure in it, but not satisfaction, because this isn’t about a job well done. It’s not even about war. It’s a rescue mission. This is how that girl comes home.

1:05 How often do we see a hijab-wearing, career-driven, intelligent, independent Muslim woman on television with a voice of her own? It’s a groundbreaking role that I’m honored to play. Homeland is great at challenging our preconceived ideas. Many viewers will make up their minds about Fara the moment they set sight on her and hear her speak. She wears a headscarf and has a slight Iranian accent. She looks and feels completely out of place the moment she arrives at the CIA. She definitely senses that people define her by her appearance. The question is, has she become what society has imbued her with or does she prove them wrong? -Nazanin Boniadi How does Abu Nazir know that Brody will be approached about running for office? Would Nicholas Brody be qualified to be a congressman or Vice President in the real world, as depicted? Is the Vice President’s wife manipulating Jessica Brody in S2? He doesn’t know that Brody will be approached about running for office. That was a fortuitous outcome. He knew that Brody would be hailed as a hero and may be given access to the VP. The plan that plays out in “Marine One” was not predetermined from the time Brody was turned and “rescued.” It evolved over time. In the real world, a toilet brush is qualified to become congressman or VP, as is apparent by the near recent state of American politics. As a presumed war hero, Brody is actually a fantastic candidate. I’m not sure what you mean by “manipulating” - the VP’s wife was cultivating an ally in Jessica, the better to influence her husband. We can say that Carrie/Saul was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Brody, Max, Virgil, Dar and Quinn... It would be possible to clarify the following doubts: - I would like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press. Clearly, Javadi being able to take credit for capturing Brody helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder? Was his name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you thought. - Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. You just did that ... why ?? Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else. Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was awesome, it will be one of the most memorable moments of the series, without a doubt! "And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see in him what you see. That has happened. Everyone sees him through your eyes now ..." - How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see it? It's the world?

Disagree strongly -- Homeland in the last two seasons was NOT tightly written, it was a shambles. Try watching Line of Duty and you will see what real writing really is. Alex Gansa Eat your heart out - Jed Mercurio is ten times better.
