What I remember hearing from a friend years ago is that Frog in Hebrew = Tsfardeah, same root as Tzipur Yodeah. The frog jumps because it knows there are birds above, alluding or hinting to the Heavens and The Creator and the synchronization of Creation.

You can't get karet twice - once you are "cut off" that's your status. In any case, not every part of the Temple Mount results in karet, only where the actual Temple stood. Rabbi, according to the explanation that the brothers didn't sell Yosef, how are we to understand that 10 sages were killed centuries later for the selling of Yosef?

One way to understand it is that the brothers were still considered as if they "sold" Joseph because they allowed it to happen and failed to prevent it. This is just like King Solomon being described as committing idolatry even though he didn't actually worship idols himself but only allowed it to happen and didn't prevent it. I wrote an in-depth analysis of the Ten Martyrs in the second volume of 'Garments of Light'. If you don't have access to the book, send me an email and I can provide the relevant essay.

Re identifying the Hebrews with the Hyksos, I wonder if we need to consider what route the Hyksos documentably followed from Egypt to Israel. According to everything I’ve seen written about the Hyksos by archeologists and historians, the route that the Hyksos took on this bast journey was the coastal route - but, if this is true, then the Hyksos couldn’t have been the Hebrews, because (as you know) the Bible says straight-out that the Hebrews did NOT take the coastal route on this journey: Exodus 13:17.
