Water is like Earth's shock absorber... You can't get karet twice - once you are "cut off" that's your status. In any case, not every part of the Temple Mount results in karet, only where the actual Temple stood. Rabbi, according to the explanation that the brothers didn't sell Yosef, how are we to understand that 10 sages were killed centuries later for the selling of Yosef?

One way to understand it is that the brothers were still considered as if they "sold" Joseph because they allowed it to happen and failed to prevent it. This is just like King Solomon being described as committing idolatry even though he didn't actually worship idols himself but only allowed it to happen and didn't prevent it. Yet, the pshat reading of the Torah is quite clear that the brothers didn't sell him. So why bend over backwards to reinterpret it in such a way that makes our patriarchs look like terrible sinners, while at the same time supporting a pro-Christian view?

There is one messiah … messiah Ben Joseph (yeshua ben Joseph Ben Jacov from Galilee, the suffering servant who rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, the Passover lamb, whose death atones for the penalty of death - causing death to pass over, and who resurrected on First Fruits.) when he comes back, this same Messiah will come in all his glory as messiah Ben David (his ancestor) and step on the mount of olives splitting it in two, bringing the new Jerusalem to establish the messianic age.
