You should sell the tie dye shirts that you make cause I would absolutely buy them

Not only a brilliant technique, but also an excellent explanation! I appreciate your expression of the organic nature of this technique. I just bought my first tie dye supplies to add to my overflowing closet of crafty things, and your videos have really opened my eyes to possibilities beyond spirals and shibori shapes.

I have to say thank you for your comments @2:00. Sometimes, I feel the best art is that in which we couldn't completely control the outcome, sort of like letting the materials decide what it wants to be. One of my most favorite things I've created was created so simply and randomly. It was a paper crown "painted" with mostly dried out paint. I didn't want this beautiful, random mix of paint to go to waste nor let this crown be thrown away. I just tried to get some of that paint stick and by doing that, there was this organic image that I couldn't have created by my own volition. By letting go of all I hoped for and desired, I made something that made me even happier. I just let things fall into place. This sounds silly but I'm happy to be reminded of that time through your work. Thank you.

Bree Utsman I'm using Procion MX Dye, so look for that. It's usually available in craft stores, and can also be ordered on the internet. It's the same dye most people use for liquid dying, only this is before it's mixed with water. As for Tulip, they have a wide variety of dyes, so I can't tell you for sure. If the instructions require hot water, then it's not Procion. Otherwise, there's a good chance it will work, but know it may not. Also, keep in mind that this shirt was pre-soaked in Soda Ash solution, which is purchased anywhere you can get Procion dyes, so that's truly the best way to go. However, store bought kits like Tulip often have Soda Ash mixed in with the dye, so may still work if that's all you have.

See this is why abstract is my life. SO many objects, from my POV mostly faces in this shirt In particular looked so spiritual and meaningful. Even after washing the shirt I like it even better because the things you see in the abstract piece are more muted but in a good way. It's funn to look for hidden faces or symbols that magically create themselves is just crazy awesome! I could go on for hours lol but ill end here. AWESOME JOB!

+Crispy It shined quite brightly on me my friend! Again, thank you so very much for bringing this into my life. Allow me to gush here...1st. Your folding tech is a great way for a perfect mirror image. 2nd. The ice gave me the idea to freeze the dye in dixy cups to make a thin chip and break off pieces and place on where I choose. It freezes pretty quick, hoping it works. 3rd. The majority of my muscles are shot now from a disease so over the years it's become a real pain in the ass to stand in one spot for hours on end squeezing bottles. This is such a time saver, you rock!

Excited about all of this, and great idea with freezing the dye. If you ever get a chance to upload your creations I'd love to see them.
