Thank you for the information. My Mom and I had cilantro micro greens at restaurant. First time. I was fascinated, purchased cilantro. Has sat on shelf for couple weeks now. Was nothing short of overwhelmed by all the micro greens growing techniques. Picked up hemp growing mats at nursery today. Still kinda overwhelmed by all the information, wondering if I should instead have picked up coco coir. So glad I didn’t, I’m ready to roll forward now after watching your videos.

great! let me know how you do. Once you start you will be growing micro greens all the time. So fun and you will have all kinds of different flavors. Have to try pea shoots. They are amazing on salads.

What a great video, thank you very much, I was wondering if you can make a video explaining how do you prepare your water with nutrients to be able to use it with microgreens. It would help me a lot :)

Johnny's carries Terrafibre Hemp Mats already cut to 10x20 for $1.19 each. You could tack that on to your regular order to get free shipping. They are renewable, compostable and have a high water capacity for germination as well.

As always, thanks for the great videos and info. Can you let me know where you get your white grow media (biostrate) for the MG’s? I see the other items in the description, but not the roll. Thanks!

That was purchased from CropKing. I bought like 6 roles. Not sure if its on their website but I know they carry it. Works great.

Thank you. A great Video. Q. Are Micro greens only given water & what happens if Nutrients are used from about day 5 ?
@HomegrownPassion Жыл бұрын
We use nutrient water from day one. I would imagen if you start using tap water and then switch to nutrient water when you put them in the sunlight they would just grow better. Defiantly something to do if you plan on growing then past the Micro Green small stage.

What is your experience on REGROWTH? Which seeds regrow well and which do not? I had previously threw the roots out after harvesting. But Now I have more than doubled my harvests of peas and Broccoli. THANK YOU!
@HomegrownPassion10 ай бұрын
Regrowth does work. Most of regrowth is fed to chickens but it is certainly a way to bring your costs down.

I don't remember if you have used Terrafiber in a prior video, but if not, you may want to try it as well. It also comes in rolls to cut for 10x20" trays. Works out to right at $1.65 per tray with terrafiber vs the $1.70 you said for the jute based on the Amazon roll price for Terrafiber (10" x 120' = $119)

@@HomegrownPassion Google it, I found it as low as $99 a 10"x120' roll in a search (Walmart of all places?). It's made in Canada

For wetting the grow medium before you start, would it be more effective to put some solution in a small bucket and squeeze each cloth through it like hand-washing laundry? It looks like the surface is a bit water-repellent when it's very dry, fresh off the roll, and squeezing water or solution through it would fix that.
@HomegrownPassion10 ай бұрын
I think you are right. It was my first time working with jute. I will try that. Thank you!

Have noticed you have tried a couple of types of medium to grow your micro greens. Does one standout for being the better growing medium? Enjoy your channel!

We are really liking this Jute product. Seems to work great. The chickens pick apart the scraps and turns into a natural bedding for them. So, it's our number 1 right now.
@nadaalakkad722111 ай бұрын
Great inspiring method. As for growing medium, the only one I usually use is peat moss and it is so messy compared to the neat one you tried. Sorry I was not able to get right the name of that medium.(silly me). Would you mind spell it for me to google it and see if it is available around? Many thanks in advance.
