​@@adurrence1same here 🤚. Been watching for a while now too since resetting my tank and scape and getting some bloody mary shrimps to start my colony. Happy to say after just 14 days my berried female gave birth to some babies I spotted today 😄. Quite fast I have to say though I think it was likely due to the 1 week hot weather we were having in the UK with the tank temp reading 28 degrees

​@@alifalif2205you can breed different coloured neocaridinas and caridinas but not the different species together. If you breed different colour news from my experience your likely going to get a mix of colours but most turn to their wild type colour which is just see through

That’s great@@Batmancontingencyplans light is so necessary but don’t break your food budget over them. And I have Rams horn snails and busy nose long fin plecos to balance out the healthy algae.

I didn't start the smartest way possible but had this established nanotank with about 5 fish and plenty of plants/javamoss so decided to buy the last 5 shrimp from a local store. 4 red ones, 1 dark brown with a lighter back. Had no real intention of breeding but it did happen anyway. Having a nice colony after a year now and pretty sure I just spotted a yellow one. Wasn't expecting that from the colors I had.

The only thing I would add is to let your tank mature for at least a month and really monitor ammonia for the first two weeks. I’m completely open to the idea that I’m doing something wrong, but it seems like no matter what I do I’ll have a 50% die off rate if the tank isn’t mature enough to have a thin coat of algae on the walls.

I also recommend this one base on experience I got a tank thats running for almost 4 years I add a neocaridina shrimp it got no problem no dead shrimp and got shrimplets after a month, but when I add shrimps on a almost 2 weeks tank there is always a dead shrimp up until it reaches on the 4th week. Addition for this cycle your water then monitor the PH (7.2 - 7.6 ppm), Ammonia(0 ppm), Nitrite(0 ppm), Nitrate(10 - 20 ppm) this is my current water param of the newly setup tank and the almost 4 years running tank using API freswater master test kit.

Hi, I am not sure of your question. When you say 'how to add bacteria', what do you mean? You can buy bacteria in a bottle, but there really is no need. Bacteria will naturally develop in your tank

I have a question, mt breeder told me if i have 4 to 5 water lettuce plants to my shrimp tank i dont need a filter, i havent been using a filter fron the day i got them and theyre ok

Certainly plants absorb much of the waste created by shrimp. I keep many unfiltered shrimp tanks. The shrimp generally do very well. 👍🏻

Hi. RCS females hold the eggs under their bodies until they are ready to hatch. Malaysian Trumpet Snails won’t cause the baby shrimp any issues at all 🦐👍🏻

Nice one. It seems these little guys hate moving tanks. With my story i bought 12 bloody mary shrimps and 6 from the local fish shop. Lost about 5 from the online store after about a week and 1 from the local shop next day after buying. Thankfully have 2 berried females and hoping they give birth to many shrimplets and hope no culing needed

Hey man, in one of your previous videos you talked about what food to feed shrimp and you mentioned Pollen such as bees Pollen. I used a bit too much a killed quite a few of my shrimp, I didnt know that could spike the nitrates up. I use King shrimp pellets and use quite a bit cause they love it and doesnt effect the water imo. More of a feelsbad but I personally wouldnt recommend but again I made a couple mistakes with it

I hear that assassin snails eat shrimp. I have my tubs infected with nuesents snails….too many, eating my shrimp food. I added 3 assasins to each tub today. Am I going to have an issue?

I have around 25 shrimps in my community tank. I don’t really see most of them, just a few of them here and there around the tank. I’m struggling to breed them there, probably because of the fishes eating the shrimplets. I also struggle to feed them because the fishes keep on competing with them for food. I know I shouldn’t worry too much about them eating, but I really want them to be visibly eating. Any tips?

I dont like the tannin color from the almond leaves. How can I reduce it? or best none at all? I'm assuming that if there's no color anymore does it mean the almond leaves are not beneficial?

Basically (to answer your last question) yes. If you don’t like the colour, you can put less in to dilute it but the water will still be a lil yellowy! If you have any wood in the tank that will also release tannins and tint the water

You could add activated charcoal to the filter, that will pull the tannins out and make the water clear again!

I love buying mine online. Just do your research home different breeders. I would never advise store brought only because they are not sure the history of the shrimp. I like to know all details down to feeding. I feed my shrimp how I eat. Everything organic! Good luck!

This is so saddening another one of my shrimp died now i have 2 I don’t what the problem is i asked everyone local breeders and etc but they don’t know anything they all use aqua soil i asked if thats the problem but they all say it good to have aqua soil and my water changes and water parameters are fine what do i do? I noticed store bought shrimps seem to be sensitive probably due to the stress moving and travellingfrom their home tank to yours. Lost about 5 shrimps I bought now in my 3 to 4 weeks buying. I believe it's best to just to leave the tank and them alone. Disturbing them too much such as water changing and disturbing them, change in temp can stress them. A few days back I was putting iced water bottles in to cool the tank though I found 1 dead shrimp a day after so stopped it. I'd say when they start breeding and produce shrimplets the babies I've seen and hopefully become accustomed and more hardy to your tank and parameters
